Graph plotter A plotter is a device used to plot 2D images on paper or other material that is either rolled up and pulled for printing or laid on a table. A plotter may also be used to cut material into required 2D shapes, for example, cutting leather sheets into intricate shapes for making car upholstery or for making shoes, bags or other hobby purposes. The design is fed into the system through a computer and two motors control the pen or knife’s motion along the two axis

How to operate: Keep a blank sheet of paper under the plotter. The pen holding assembly can be lowered or raised. Lower the pen such that it touches the sheet of paper. There are two motors that control the pen’s motion along and y axis. Use the two switches and learn to control the pen precisely and try writing or drawing on the paper.

Lesson to be learnt: Chain Drive: Chain drive is a way of transmitting mechanical power from one place to another. It is often used to transfer power to the wheels of a vehicle from the shaft attached to engine. Chain drives can be easily spotted in bicycles and motorcycles.
