01 COMMUNITY WELLNESS CENTRE Wellness Centre Third Year Studio | 2019 Vidhyadhar Nagar , Jaipur , Rajasthan
Vidhyadhar Nagar is a satellite city to Jaipur. It has a new lifestyle option to the inhabitants and thats quite different from the old Jaipur city. The idea of new urbanism is subtly operational in this new sterile planned city and not in its entirety. The context is built up due to the lifestyle patterns around but also has major drawbacks. A lot has been provided for within the various sectors and zones that have been planned at the intersections of the main accesses. Major population stays well within the limits of their convenience and does not have much interaction with the nearby zones. There is a gap in the understanding of space and place in the given context , owing to which there is a greater loss in the sense of belonging around Vidhyadhar Nagar. A proposal for a ‘place’ that can be interpreted in ways the masses and the neighbourhood populace would want to and a central gathering space within the context of this sterile setup which promotes community living at a larger scale.

02 NERAL RAILWAY STATION - A VISION FOR A GROWTH HUB Neral Railway Station Third Year Studio | 2018 Mumbai , Maharashtra
Addressing the notion of what is ‘urban’ and the notion of a ‘place’. The project aims at addressing the concept of place making. The idea of the growth hub tries to bring together public and private sectors for the better of the residents of Neral. The centre for the heritage of Neral-the toy train to Matheran needs to be glorified to give a rise to the influx of tourists and commuters to this part of the city. Aiming at striking a balance between the tourist as well as commuter centric development keeping in mind the benefit of the locals and residents of Neral village.

03 RISING STAR- A TRANSITIONAL FACILITY FOR ACTORS Residing and Co-working Facility Second Year Studio| 2017 Mumbai , Maharashtra
People have been coming to the city of Mumbai in search of a job and a life - since the city’s beginnings and this migration still continues to this day. In the heart of the Aarey Colony Area near Goregaon , most of the country’s budding actors and creators struggle to strive in the demanding industry - that is the Indian cinema industry. The project aims at designing a facility for these struggling actors for the basic needs of residing as well as working - all under one roof , giving them opportunities at chance interactions with other like minded people from the industry. The facility comprises of three types of functions - social, professional and support. Aiming at supporting the actors living away from home along with a competitive spirit within the campus that not only encourages individuals but also helps in forming connections within each other.

04 LANDFORM AND TERRAIN STUDIES TYPOLOGY STUDY AND DESIGN House in a Thicket Second Year Studio | 2018 Pawana Dam , Pune , Maharashtra
The site near Pawana Dam near Pune offered varied views along with great topography and terrain. The site was divided into four main categories with respect to its landfrom and vegetation namely- hydrology , slope , elevation , vegetation. These four main aspects of the site were looked at with the help of suitability maps which later helped bring forward the common conditions set out before picking a suitable plot and designing on it. A plot with fairly sparse vegetation towards the lower levels and moderately dense vegetation towards the upper levels was chosen to house the structure. A journey from the open to the narrow bylanes of a forest is what is designed with the help of vegetation typologies on the plot leading all the way up to the house. The eperienceof the journey from the openess of a meadow to the confines of a dense thicket forest is aimed at through the entire pathway up the slopes of the Pawana Hills.

05 INTERIOR DESIGN Interior Design Fourth Year Studio | 2019 Indiabulls Blu, Worli, Mumbai, Maharashtra
The site near Worli seafce with glass facades throughout the structure provide views to the entire city. The clients wanted a minimalist yet luxurious interior within the house. The main users within the house are the husband and wife along with their two kids. The other users in the house are the makeup customers and artists working with the wife. Shades of whites , greys and blacks along with lighter wooden tones have been used as a basis for minimalist. With the use of metals and rich fabrics, a luxurious look is derived.

06 PUNE DOCUMENTATION WADAS OF PUNE Craft and Wada Documentation Second Year Studio | 2017 Pune , Maharashtra
The marathwada region of Maharshtra-Pune was taken up to study the typical Maharashtrian Wadas and their elements and plannimg. The Peshwai rule set up a whole lot of beautiful structures all around Maharashtra and most of them in Pune. Ornate columns , window frames , doors , arches , collonades and the courtyards - begin to overwhelm an individual. Flora and fauna play a major part in the ornamentation within the structures. Elaborate architecture throughout the old part of Pune city never ceases to amaze the observer.

The planning of all the Wadas beginning from the spatial planning to the basic usage of material has carefully been paid attention to. With walls as much as 2 feet wide to contain the cool temperatures within the structure to the spaces being laid out in the hierarchy of public to semi-public and onto the private spaces , the rulers lived their lives lavishly and designed their structures beautifully.

I AOA X Cans A three day intensive collaborative workshop with CANS college on how geometry converts to design and to create patterns around us. This was later translated to live scale bamboo structures.
II Hunnarshala Foundation A three day course and workshop on Earth construction - using Adobe , CSEB blocks and Rammed earth construction. A hands on experience at constructing using the materials and learning more abour sustainable architecture.
III Govardhan Eco Village A five day workshop on brick construction bamboo construction on geodesic domes. A deeper look into sustainable community living at the set up and the services and sewage treatments and landscaping and agricultural methods.

DOODLES AND MANDALAS

I always had a habit of doodling and making intricate linework in my artwork. This hobby soon turned into an artform that is often known to be meditative and soothing. Making zentangles , mandalas , and other doodles has now become a part of every day routine. Having started this is a hobby it has now grown to become something that I do as commissioned pieces for varied uses - on diaries , as paintings , or as phone covers. This art form has really helped develop a lot of patience and a sense of calm in me.
