While many people have suggested that brick and mortar retail is dead, we firmly believe that you— our customers—still want to look, feel, touch, and have a human experience while shopping. We will continue to strive to make your experience in the shop evocative and sensory, and always greet you with a genuine smile and helping hand. This holiday season, we have put together some intentional gift giving ideas, in hopes that we can help to make your holiday gift giving a little easier and more meaningful. In a season of many “things,” we love gifts that people can use again and again, items that age with grace and elegance, and those that can be put to good use without causing detriment to the environment that we love so much. DAY 1: MONOGRAM CARDS
We believe in the art of the handwritten note. It is so gratifying to give and receive a note, written by hand, that really lets someone know that you care. We especially love these elegant monogram cards created by Kim Austin of Austin Press with her vintage letterpress.
DAY 2: BLACKWING PENCILS AND JOURNAL
Over the years we have discovered this brand has a cult following, and for good reason. With roots that go back to the 1930’s, John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones—the creator of Bugs Bunny—were known to use Blackwing pencils religiously. Our Chateau Sonoma team loves them just as much and we are also fans of the journal to keep our creative juices flowing. 6
DAY 3: HOMEMADE JAM FROM THE C H AT E AU PA N T RY
With an abundance of fruit from the Chateau Sonoma garden we decided to jar it up for your pleasure. It’s a great gift for the foodie or entertainer in your life. The Moroccan tomato jam is the perfect companion to any cheese plate!
DAY 4: MARSEILLE SOAP
This has been one of our favorites since the inception of Chateau Sonoma nearly 20 years ago and this soap has existed in France for nearly 600 years. It is made with 80% olive oil and has amazing skin healing qualities, cleans just about anything (including laundry), and bubbles beautifully in the bath. Oh, and it’s also one of the prettiest soaps we have ever seen!

DAY 5: C H AT E AU S O N O M A S I G N AT U R E CANDLE AND DIFFUSER
Over the years we have been asked “what is that beautiful smell?” when customers walk into the shop. We decided to take matters into our own hands and create a fragrance that we think has the aroma of the store, and voilà—our signature candle was created. Everyone who smells the fragrance falls under its spell, men and women alike. Each candle is triple scented so the subtle fragrance lasts throughout the entire burn, which is around 60 hours. The notes are bergamot, lemon, ginger and jasmine with a hint of musk, sandlewood and cedarwood. Stay tuned for our roll on fragrance! 12
DAY 6: CHAMPAGNE FLUTES MADE BY LA ROCHERE
We love champagne and we love this glass maker who has been making glass for everyday use for the past 500 years. The company is recognized around the world for designing and producing authentic, high-quality glassware with a French style for today’s modern home. We especially like this “Perigord” style champagne flute—classique!

DAY 7: MONSIEUR & MADAME GLASSWARE
These are brand new to the shop and they make for a perfect gift for any couple! A charming rocks glass for spirit-forward cocktails with a rim edged in gold. They also make a lovely brush cup for the bathroom or vanity. Madame, of course, is French for Mrs. and Monsieur for Mr.
DAY 8: MENS COLOGNE
Men and women cannot resist these fragrances! Bourbon Vanilla, Cedarwood Marine, Black Amber, and Teak Wood. DIVINE! Eau de perfume are made by master perfumers with meticulous detail in the hills of Grasse, France and we’ve never smelled better.

DAY 9: DONKEY MILK SOAP
The milk of the donkey has an exceptional composition and is ideal for tightening the skin—it has the power to slow down the aging process through regeneration. Its legendary properties will make your skin soft, healthy, and fresh! This soap contains vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and retinol. If it was good enough for Cleopatra and Marie Antoinette, it is good enough for us! 19
DAY 10: FLEUR DE FRANCE
This is the most luxurious lavender line we have ever found. Over 2,000 years ago, the Romans introduced this healing oil to the rest of Europe and it has been planted and used in France ever since! The oil is steam-distilled and is recognized worldwide as the best for relaxation and skin care. Formulated in France, this trio of hand repair cream, enzyme peel, and face oil make for the most opulent and luxurious, yet usable gift.

DAY 11: GABRIEL GLASS, ONE GLASS FOR ALL
The ideal glass for every style of wine. Form follows function: The broader base of the bowl of the glass — a precise 95 millimeters — and the conical shape at the top of the glass allows for the “nose” of a wine to emerge in the glass. The glass acts as a gentle decanter and the shape is designed for the maximum enjoyment of every varietal and style of wine served in the glass. They are also lead-free crystal and perfectly safe in the dishwasher!

Who wouldn’t want liquid gold for a holiday gift? Our honey bees have been working hard all summer and fall and they produced the most delicious honey this year. A no-brainer for anyone on your holiday list.
