Pier 18 is located in Seaport Manhattan, adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge. By collapsing the East River Walkway into one contained structure, Pier 18 is able to combine sports, liesure, and socialization in a way that engages and connects participants with different agendas. The aesthetic nature and materials of the pier have been borrowed from contextual infrastructural qualities. This is not a new redevelopment within the site, but rather a reimagining of the existing.
