As we prepared to enter the second year of working from home, I began to think about meaningful ways for the Sabo PR team to connect beyond our weekly distanced happy hour. I decided on offering a monthly get-together that would allow our crew to gather safely, enjoy an experience and support the local economy. The gift of membership at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park checked all those boxes—with the added benefit of allowing our team, their spouses and partners to enjoy the beauty of Meijer Gardens for an entire year. We hope you have been enjoying the virtual content we have been sharing while we are unable to host in- person events. Please watch for information regarding Celebrate Grandparents and our fall ArtPrize exhibition. We look forward to seeing you when we can safely host parties here again!

DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP

Introducing digital membership cards! We are now sending digital membership cards in addition to the physical cards attached to the bottom of your tax receipt. When you purchase or renew your membership this year, watch for an email with instructions to download your card. There is no need to download an extra app. For Apple phones, the card will download to your wallet and for Android phones, the card will download to your Google wallet. Each card can only be downloaded once so if there are two card-holding members on your account, please provide an email address for each person.

GREAT GARDENS GREAT GARDENS PARTY PARTY IN THE GARDENS PARTY 2021: PARTY IN THE GARDENS!

After a successful virtual version of Great Gardens Party in 2020, our Host Committee is happy to announce the return to an in-person event this year! For the safety of our guests, the event has been postponed to August and moved outdoors, utilizing the beautiful spaces in our Amphitheater and adjacent gardens.

An additional important event update: There will be no Christmas Cabaret fundraising gala this December due to the Welcoming The World: Honoring a Legacy of Love Grand Opening & Dedication Ceremony on November 29 and 30, 2021 that will be occurring near the typical Cabaret timeframe. The Great Gardens Party will be our sole signature fundraising event of 2021. Because of this, we invite all our previous fundraising event sponsors and guests to Party in the Gardens with us on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Guests will enjoy gourmet food and signature cocktails from several stations. Live and silent auctions will feature exciting items and experiences. Plus, we’ve added live entertainment to the Great Gardens Party for the first time! Dance along to the music of May Erlewine and The Motivations, performing live on the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage. You won’t want to miss this special Great Gardens Party!
