Vietnam
The land of ascending Dragon
We’re not going to pretend: your first trip to Vietnam will be a shocker. No matter what you’ve heard, it’s no match for the reality. The country is a steaming cauldron of past and present, where the women cooking pho on the street have iPhones, where you can see a skyline full of building cranes from a brilliantly green rice field ploughed by water buffalo, where everyone’s eager to meet strangers, to practice their English, to have you get to know their country because they’re proud of what it’s become. Welcome to Vietnam. Visitors will revel in the abundance of must-see sights like Hue’s Imperial City, the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh in retro Hanoi, bustling Ben Thanh market in Saigon and the floating markets of the Mekong Delta. Sample the world-beating cuisine, cruise down a river with dense tropical jungle encroaching upon the banks, visit centuries-old pagodas or experience the world’s strongest caffeine jolt with a Vietnamese iced coffee, as they relax on Vietnam’s pristine beaches and luxurious seaside resorts. There’s never been a better time to visit. This dynamic country is booming, international investment is growing, and a sense of optimism and possibility pervades. Although Vietnam’s path through history – Chinese occupation and French colonialism, the American War and the era of socialism – has not been an easy one, it has resulted in a country that knows who it is and where it’s going. The Vietnamese are fiercely independent, yet warm and hospitable; business-savvy yet quick to laugh, and have a strong sense of self-determination. This is the Vietnam of Mekong Viet Travel. No one knows Vietnam like we do, and our custom-designed itineraries will introduce you to the country in a truly authentic way. Vietnam is home for us, and soon it will feel like home for you.
