World Wide Sires UK recognises the range of criteria our customers use to select sires, based on individual economic and breeding philosophy goals. Within the brochure, utilise these designation icons to easily navigate towards sires that suit your system and refine your selection from our portfolio to best meet your breeding objectives.
Look for the genderSELECTED icon to identify sires with sex-sorted semen available. More heifers is not out of reach with our research-backed gender SELECTED sires. All gender SELECTED semen is processed using Ultraplus technology.
The Elite Sexed Fertility icon designates sires that can help you achieve the highest sex-sorted semen conception rates, enhancing your return on investment! This innovative designation distinguishes our highest performing sires for sex-sorted semen in both 2M and 4M products.
World Wide Sires has identified sires that transmit the desired traits for robotic milking systems. RobotPRO sires are selected by focusing on component and milk yield, milk quality, udder health as well as functional traits. Use these sires to create the next generation of profitable cows for your specific milking systems.
GForce indicates sires with elite genetic evaluations based on a combination of traditional pedigree and genomic data, but does not contain actual daughter data. This combination of data increases the reliability of a young sire’s genetic prediction prior to the availability of the actual daughter data.
The GForce+ lineup includes genomic young sires with selection on rigid semen quality standards and their high-ranking Sire Conception Rate (SCR) from progeny test semen usage. GForce+ sires must have outstanding genetic merit, a highly reliable sire stack and actual calving ease observations.
Product
Sires which excel in multiple indicators of mastitis resistance are most likely to deliver genetic improvement. Mastitis ResistantPRO uses a combination of CDCB Mastitis Resistance, CDCB Somatic Cell Count (SCC) and Zoetis Mastitis Resistance genomic evaluations to easily identify the most mastitis resistant sires.
GrazingPRO sires improve the profitability of grassbased production systems by transmitting greater longevity, improved mobility, moderate stature, greater component yields and superior production - all while not compromising Daughter Pregnancy Rate (DPR) and Somatic Cell Score (SCS).
FeedPRO optimises the selection for increased production and moderate body size while maintaining body condition score & daughter fertility. This revolutionary index designates sires with the genetics to improve income over feed costs & maintain health and reproductive traits.
The FertilityPRO designation identifies sires with semen that will likely improve pregnancy rates. This designation is assigned by examining industry service sire conception rate values, along with intensive in-house semen quality evaluations.
Sires earn the SHOWCASE designation through outstanding breed-leading Type or show-winning pedigrees. Turn to this designation to produce your next show winner or improve the overall type in your herd.
If you want the most reliable sires available for your breeding programme, look at the Progeny Proven icon. The icon designates sires with an evaluation based on the both genomic data and actual daughter performance data.
UNDERSTANDING OUR SIRE DIRECTORY
The guide below has been designed to help you easily navigate through our Spring 2024 directory, this we hope will allow you to make a more informed sire selection. We as a company offer the most expansive and transparent range of data available to the UK farmer - utilising both US country of origin and UK data.

Key Profit Traits
U.S. Proof information can be found in this section.
TPI (Total Performance Index) is a multi-trait index calculated combining production, type, longevity and fertility into a single value. The higher the value the better.
Designations. For a full explanation of Designations see page 3.
NM$ (Net Merit) measures the expected profit that offspring will provide over its lifetime. The higher the number, the more potential profit.
DWP$ (Dairy Wellness Profit) is a multi-trait selection index which includes production, fertility, type, longevity and wellness traits, including polled test results. The higher the number, the higher the expected profitability.
WT$ (Wellness Trait) Places economic weights on wellness traits, directly estimating potential profit contribution of these traits for an individual animal. This multi-trait selection index focuses solely on wellness traits with unique formulas used for Holsteins.
PL (Productive Life) is a score used to identify the productive months of life a cow will have compared to herd mates. A PL of 1.0 equates to one additional month of production in the herd. PL gives the greatest weight to the first 305 days (10 months) of lactation, as cows are most profitable and productive in early lactation.
SCR (Sire Conception Rate) is not a genetic trait, but measures the fertility of the bull. An SCR of 1.0 indicates a 1% increase in conception rate when compared to average.
SCE (Sire Calving Ease) is the estimate of the Percentage of Difficult Births in Heifers (DBH) when they calve the first time.
U.K. production evaluation information can be found in this section. PLI (Profitable Lifetime Index) is the national multi-trait index for use in yearround-calving herds. It promotes yield whilst protecting milk quality, and adds emphasis to fertility, longevity and calving performance whilst improving functional type, udder health and lameness. The higher the value the better.
U.K. management evaluation information can be found in this section. SCI (Spring Calving Index) is an across breed genetic index developed for spring block-calving herds, which rely heavily on grazed grass and calve in a tight block, to breed cows that produce lower volumes of milk at higher quality. As the index is across-breed, bulls of different breeds can be compared. SCI promotes milk quality, fertility, longevity, easier calving, selects for reduced maintenance costs and protects functional type.
ACI (Autumn Calving Index) is an across breed genetic index developed for autumn block-calving herds, and reflects the costs for feeding for winter milk production and the higher milk price received at that time of year. As the index is across-breed, bulls of different breeds can be compared. ACI promotes more milk yield than SCI, but has less emphasis on milk quality & health traits. It does have a higher emphasis on female fertility than PLI. It also selects for longevity, easier calving and functional type and reduced maintenance costs.
U.K. type evaluation information can be found in this section.
Zoetis Wellness Traits can be found in this section. Zoetis Wellness traits are direct predictors for wellness traits related to common disease conditions in dairy production. These genetic predictions are based on data from millions of health records within U.S. commercial herds. Higher values are more desirable for all traits. Use Wellness traits to help you select for a healthier, more trouble-free herd over time.

Two products that help cows get back on feed fast.
Built from the trusted and recognized YMCP® global brand, YMCP Vitall® is the total fresh cow product. Optimal fresh cow recovery means getting them back on feed quickly and replenishing nutrients lost during freshening. YMCP Vitall has live yeast to promote feed intake, magnesium, potassium and more - including rapidly-absorbable calcium.
• YMCP Vitall is the only pressed bolus on the market containing live yeast, helps rumen more rapidly adapt to the changing fresh cow diet, getting them back on feed fast

When cows are off feed, helping them to return to normal intake levels and healthy production quickly is the top priority. RYCaps® help to restore beneficial bacteria in the rumen and encourage dry matter intake any time that normal digestive health has been interrupted.
• Includes live yeast to improve rumen microflora, improve the rumen environment and stimulate dry matter intake
• Supports enzymatic activity that results in increased rumen activity and enhancing beneficial bacteria
“Since we implemented the WWS Mating Programme in 2011, it has been truly spectacular to see the herd develop into what we have coming through the parlour today. Milking 250 cows twice daily in a 16-32 DeLaval swingover parlour, our aim is to maintain dairy strength, stature and robustness and select sires with high type and from strong cow families.
WWS provide a phenomenal service from scoring recently calved heifers and selecting sires to suit our system. It is always a pleasure to have the expertise, knowledge and passion of our Genetic Consultant spending time evaluating the cows. We always receive a professional and friendly service………..and long may this continue!”
