PUBLIC EDUCATION CENTER Halk Egitim Merkezi
Balıkesir’in Ayvalık ilçesinde bulunan proje için yapılan sosyo-demografik analizler ve bölgede yaşayan insanların sıkça bahsettiği söylemler doğrultusunda Ayvalık’ta çalışmayan 40 yaş üzeri kadınların sıklığı dikkat çekmiş ve proje kapsamında yıllar içinde Ayvalık’ın gelişmesiyle kaybedilen kamusal alanların arttırılması, aile gelirlerine katkı sağlamak ve hobi edinmek isteyen bölge halkı için halk eğitim merkezi tasarlanması kararı alınmıştır. Cumhuriyet Dönemi Halkevlerinde sıkça görülen kule yapısı ve Ayvalık’ın kıyı şeridinde bulunan eski zeytinyağı fabrikalarının bacalarının formu, projede ışıklık olarak kullanılmıştır. Dersliklerin formu oluşturulurken de proje alanı çevresindeki yapılar ve fabrikaların çatı eğimleri kaynak alınmıştır. Proje alanı, ortasından geçen yol nedeniyle ikiye ayrılmış durumdadır. Alanın kıyı şeridinde olan bölümü Ayvalık’ın deniz kıyısındaki atıl fabrika binaları nedeniyle kaybettiği kamusal alan olarak dönüştürülmüştür. Kamusal alan meydanı örneklendirilmiştir. Bölge halkının ihtiyaçlarını karşılamaya yönelik, bölgenin dokusuna saygılı bir tasarım yapılmıştır. Ulaşım ve ana yaya aksı dikkate alınarak giriş kütlesi ve saçaklı toplanma alanları oluşturulmuştur. Kütüphane, konferans salonu, restoran gibi bölge halkı açısından kullanışlı mekanlar elde edilmiştir.
In accordance with the socio-demographic analyzes conducted in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, the statements made by the people living in Ayvalık shows that the plenty of female population over the age of 40 who are unemployed. By means of the project, it was decided to design a public education center for the people of the region for recovering the disappeared public places and contributing to family income. The tower structure which is frequently seen in Public Education Centers in the Republican Period and the form of the chimneys of the old olive oil factories in Ayvalık’s coastline were used as skylight in the project. The classrooms’ form is based on the roof slopes of the buildings and factories around the project area. The project area is divided into two parts due to the road passing through the center. The part of the area on the shoreline was transformed into a public space which Ayvalık lost due to idle factory buildings on the seashore. The project that respects the texture of the region has been designed to satisfy the demands of the people of the region. The transportation and main pedestrian axis were taken into consideration while the entrance mass and the meeting areas were being shaped. Useful places have been obtained such as library, conference hall and restaurant.

COMMUNITY CENTER Sanat Merkezi
Kadıköy’ün Yeldeğirmeni mahallesinde bulunan proje alanında yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda yıllar önce yardımlaşma, ihtiyaç sahiplerinin eksiklerini giderme ve toplanma mekanı olarak kullanılan bir yapı olduğu fakat 2014’te yıkıldığı saptanmıştır. Semtin ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda proje kapsamında ihtiyaç sahiplerinin kıyafet, kişisel eşya gibi ihtiyaçlarının karşılanacağı birim, kütüphane, kamuya açık toplanma, sunum, seminer mekanları ve ziyaretçiler için geçici konaklama birimleri, tiyatro, fuaye alanı, sergi salonu ve kafe tasarlanmıştır. Yeldeğirmeni semtinde yolların birbirini dik kesmesi sonucu görülen bitişik nizam, yol-cephe ilişkisi ve avlulu yapılaşma proje alanında öncelikli olarak korunmuş, semtin ölçek algısı değiştirilmemiştir. Semtteki avluların tamamının kamuya kapalı olduğu farkedilmiş, avluda kamuya açık toplanma ve dinlenme mekanı tasarlanmıştır. Avluyu dik kesen sokakların devamı avluya giriş için açılmıştır. Proje alanının karşısında bulunan eski bir kiliseden konser mekanına çevrilen Yeldeğirmeni Sanat Merkezi’nin gösteri duyurularının ve semtteki farkındalığının az olduğu için Sanat Merkezi’nin devamı niteliğinde ve cephesiyle kiliseye saygılı bir yaklaşımla tiyatro salonu ve sergi birimleri oluşturulmuştur. Böylece sanat merkezinin yerleşim ve faaliyet alanı genişletilerek çevre ilçelerde bilinirliğinin artması hedeflenmiştir.
As a result of the researches conducted in the project area which is at Yeldeğirmeni/Kadıköy, it was determined that a building was used as a place for supplying the requirements of indigent people and was destroyed in 2014. In accordance with the needs of the neighborhood; library, presentation/seminar places, temporary accommodation units, theater, foyer area, exhibition hall and café were designed. In the district of Yeldeğirmeni, adjacent buildings, road-facade relations and courtyard culture were preserved in the project area and the scale perception of the neighborhood was not changed. It was realized that all the courtyards in the neighborhood were closed to the public and the public meeting and resting place in the areas courtyard was designed. The continuation of the streets which were perpendicular to the courtyard was opened for the entrance. The theater hall and exhibition units have been created with the respect to the church with the facade, because of the fact that Yeldeğirmeni Art Center, which is turned into a concert venue from an old church opposite the project area, has a low awareness in the neighborhood. Thus, it is aimed to expand the settlement and activity area of the art center and increase its recognition in the surrounding districts.

SOCIAL HOUSING Sosyal Konut
Proje alanının bulunduğu İstanbul’un Kartal semti değişime ve gelişime açıktır. Sosyal konut projesinin sürdürülebilir olması açısından konut, ticari, büro, otopark gibi çok işlevli kompleks bir tasarım gerçekleştirilmiştir. Projenin kat yükseklikleri, topoğrafyaya yerleşme, binaların açıları, konutların teraslanmaları ve peyzaj bağlama göre düşünülmüş, konutlardaki teraslanmalar topoğrafyanın alt eğrilerinde bulunan yaya promenadına ve manzaraya bakacak şekilde konumlanmıştır. Belediyenin belirlediği emsal hesabı ve imar sınırları göz önünde bulundurulan projede ticari bölümler alanın çevresindeki araç yollarıyla ilişkili şekilde planlanmış, ticari bölüm ve konutların otoparka ulaşımları ayrı ayrı sağlanmıştır. Acil durumlar için araç girişi (ambulans, itfaiye gibi) alan içindeki tüm dairelere erişebilecek şekildedir. Engelli dostu olan projede yapılar istinat duvarı oluşturmayacak şekilde yerleştirilmiş, peyzajdaki basamaklanmalar mümkün oldukça azaltılmış, eğimli bir arazi oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Tasarımda bahçe duvarı kullanılmamış, yaya ve araç yollarının, toplanma ve dinlenme mekanlarının kamuya açık olması sağlanmıştır. 14 farklı tip daire (2+1, 3+1, 4+1 olmak üzere) tasarlanmış, her biri farklı ailelerin ihtiyaçlarına göre çeşitlendirilmiş ve çoklu üretim için tekrarlayan modüller haline getirilmiştir. Sosyal konut projesi kapsamında sürdürülebilir, karma işlevli, 24 saat yaşayan ve verimli bir yaşam formu hedeflenmiştir.
Kartal district of Istanbul, where the project area is located, is open to change and development. In order to ensure the sustainability of the social housing project, a multifunctional complex was designed such as housing, commercial, office and parking. The floor heights of the project, topography, the angle of the buildings, the terraces of the houses and the landscape have been designed according to the context. With considering the boundaries of zoning, which is determined by the municipality, the commercial sections were planned in relation with the vehicle roads around the area and the transportation of commercial units and houses to the car park was provided separately. In case of emergency, vehicle entry (such as ambulance, fire brigade) is accessible to all apartments within the area. In the project, which is disabled-friendly, structures were placed in such a way that they do not form a retaining wall. No garden wall was used in the design for providing the pedestrian and vehicle roads, meeting and resting places usage of the public. 14 different types of flats (2+1, 3+1, 4+1) were designed, each diversified according to the needs of different families and transformed into repetitive modules for multiple production. Within the scope of the social housing project, a sustainable, mixed-function, 24-hour living and productive life form was targeted.
