ASTIGMATIC

Looks like you are in a hurry. Perhaps you are going to meet a friend for a coffee or catch a movie. But what’s the rush? Stop right now and look around. You cannot see clearly, am I right? Look at the beauty of the city that you walk with your fussy feet. Probably you have never notice its magnificance, you never sat down on a bench at the pier to enjoy the view, never wandered in the back alleys or never looked at people around you since you did not want to come eye to eye. Why? Because you are living your life as you are in a race with time. Always an anxiety, always a rush, always a race...

The series “Astigmatic”, focuses on how people miss the beauty of a city because of their race with life and time. These people have astigmatism in a sense, not an actual visual defect in their eyes but in their outlook on life. The series uses astigmatism as a metaphor for alienation and negligence. The images aim to represent the dwindling outlook of the human being as a creature missing out on the gentleness of details.
