Low income seniors who qualify can apply for program that waives sewer and refuse fees

The City of Leavenworth’s Senior Rebate Program will waive monthly sewer and refuse charges for persons 62 or older who meet these qualifications:

• Must be 62 years of age of older at the time of application

• Must be the primary occupant of your residence

• Water bill must bear applicant’s name

• Must reside within the City of Leavenworth

• Meet income limits for the entire household

Residents may sign up at the City Clerk’s Office,

Leavenworth City Hall, 100 N. 5th Street. Applications will be accepted February 1 through April 15. Income verification for the year 2024 from all sources is required, such as income tax returns, Homestead Claim, Social Security Statements and 1099 forms. The program requires reapplication each year to verify income and qualification. Applications submitted after April 15, 2025 will not be considered.
