Brief Title : Live Brief - 21st Birthday Invitation.

Studio Brief 1 : Individual Practice

The Brief : To design an invitation for a client’s 21st birthday party.

The Invitation:

The client asked for the aesthetic of the invitation to be ‘classy but not out of touch, considering it is for a 21st party.’ Another request from the client was for the design to remain simple and for it to be in keeping with the venue. The party will be held at the Yorkshire Hotel, in Harrogate. After researching into the standards of the hotel and the vicinity in which it is located, the style of invite that would be required was understood. It was also suggested for there not to be a dominant ‘bright’ colour featured in the design of the Invitation as the colour of decorations for Inside the venue had not yet been decided.

Above is an image of the inside of the invitation. A simple layout was used when approaching the design of this area of the brief. I was informed that the majority of guests who would be invited and attending the party lived in and around the town of Harrogate and therefore directions or any further information about the location of the hotel was not necessary. All that was asked was that the invite inform the guest that he/she was invited to the 21st celebration of my client, where the party would be held, what time and a number for the guests to contact my client to either confirm or decline the invite.
