To be one of Toronto’s newest cultural icons, the photographic archive of Toronto will be situated at the dynamic intersection of Spadina Ave. and Front Street. ‘Coalescent Connection’ looks to establish the Archives as a public amenity: it is a part of Toronto, part of the streets, and therefore should be linked as an essential urban connection. As streets connect people for interaction, the new Archive should be connected and act as an extension of the public realm.

Working to establish food security for future generations, the concept looks to house and combine three distinct research divisions for an interdisciplinary synergy. Three distinct research groups combine to create a ‘new OFT’—a radical research and educational facility that overlooks the existing OFT. Becoming a congregation site for these groups, the
facility caters to each group’s specific needs and provides a multitude of gathering spaces— exploring how these individuals can benefit one another. Local farmers and international wholesalers of the existing OFT are brought into the research facility, instilled with new research findings and are directly implemented back into the food industry- for a holistic, synergistic future of feeding the masses.

Mimicking the language of the existing OFT, the architecture of the new facility is created by ‘pulling up’ the body of the OFT and is subsequently cantilevered. Intimate but not touching, the new facility cantilevers over the existing OFT and descends back down, connecting to the urban level.

Alluvion serves as a model to allow tourists of the new century to experience the submerged artifacts of Bangkok in 2100. Embracing the inevitable and intense nature of water, Alluvion offers an exhilarating experience within an underwater vessel programmatically designed around a fluid landscape. HOW DO WE KEEP URBAN OPEN SPACE WHEN THE GROUND PL ANE I S C O M P L E T E LY O C C U P I E D A N D NO LONGER EXISTS?
Cities will not stop growing vertically—or horizontally. When the ground plane is completely consumed, where will open space reside? Instead of conventional solutions such as placing them underground or on roofs of buildings, what if open space was integrated directly within the architecture itself?
By holistically integrating and merging natural landscape into the artificial environment of buildings, new typologies will arise that will ultimately redefine the function of future public spaces— and to a further extent, the urban fabric itself.

Once the electrified railway is installed, the reduction of vibrations caused by trains will allow for indigenous greenery to grow between the railways, and structures will be implemented to encourage this growth.
Over time, the rail corridor will become a public green space, with electrified trains running throughout the progressively green landscape.
2060 NATURAL RAVINE The rail corridor will completely transform into a natural ravine-- the pedestrian and passenger experiences a completely immersive natural experience within the now verdant corridor.

Located in the Portlands in Toronto, the proposal is located on a ‘new island’ at the mouth of the Don River. Currently dubbed ‘Villiers Island’ by Waterfront Toronto, the studio project is a complete redesign and pitch for Toronto’s first ‘smart city’ and proposition for future flood resiliency. As ‘a three-dimensional urban neighbourhood where
suburban life merges with the energy of a city’, the proposal integrates street infrastructure into the building itself, providing a holistic integration of street infrastructure, flood resiliency, and urban connectivity. With a highly resilient pedestrian and transportation infrastructure as the backbone to the new district, a new urban fabric is ultimately forged, advancing Toronto as a central beacon into the next century.
