SNAPSHOT DAY: A Day in the Life of Maryland Libraries On Wednesday, October 5, 2011 libraries all over Maryland will take pictures and record the numbers of people who come through their doors. Students conducting research will join hundreds of other customers who are checking out books, DVD’s and other library material, including electronic resources. On the SNAPSHOT DAY website, you will find the “upload your pictures” line. Clicking on this line will allow you to upload your pictures to a Shutterfly account. Also the comments you receive from patrons will be uploaded also to the Shutterfly account. The statistics will be uploaded to the zoomerang survey, which will be added at a later date. During the event collect statistics and take pictures of the following: 1. Door count 2. Questions answered 3. Program and classes offered (Here’s where the pictures come in) 4. Circulation including books, DVD’s, etc 5. Database retrievals, ( divide the monthly amount by the number of days your library is open in October) After the event, report your statistics on the web page, upload your photos and any anecdotes.
