He Ain’t Moving, But You Must
What I felt God whisper in my ear was, “People come to church to make Me move. But I’m not moving! You have to move!”
While ridding home the other day, I had a moment, an epiphany. It was as if God rolled down the car window and gave me directions to where I need to go.
If I want more, then I have to move to the most humbling position, but the most comfortable position...the place of submission. What commands God is not my exaggerated praise, but my submitted worship.
Many times Christians go to church with the unconfessed intention of moving God to meet our needs. We never say that. But we come with that attitude. We come to church and because we have a few problems in our life, we plop down on the pew and wait for God to come and move us from our seat.
What arrogance! What foolish, pompous arrogance we humans allow to enter our heart. Does it not occur to us that it’s His house that we come to every service time?
God is not going to move anywhere. He is where He is supposed to be. He is waiting for us to move to where He is. If we don’t move just because we don’t “feel” God, then we show our true selfish “God, I had a bad week. So I need you to come over here and shake me until and ungrateful attitude. We become like I feel your spirit move on me. Then I will spoiled brats who have been given everything but not satisfied with get up and worship you.” anything.

Worship is not for the self absorbed, prideful and conceited individual. It’s far to embarrassing for them. It is, however, for those who have nothing to loose, but so much to gain by finding refuge in the most refreshing place there is...bowed down in His presence. After all, that’s what we were created for. -Mel A. Perry. Mel serves as Global Relations Director and Assistant Pastor of NLTC

Great Peace By Bishop Brenda K. Perry
I’m so excited about what is happing at New Life Temple. For the past few months God has been breathing His breath into our lungs. While there are some who may have said that the season of pruning would kill us, God has spoken into our hearts and said, “Let me be your life support.”
At the closing of a conference that I attended, the guest speaker’s wife was given an opportunity to say a word to the house of faith. She had noticed that the hosting Bishop’s son, Pastor J., kept making a statement of not wanting to For the next couple of months NLTC will revisit the 40 Days of Purpose. Each offend anyone. Because of this, she asked Wednesday we will gather for a time of all of us to turn to Psalm 119:165 (KJV), sharing and growing together. Together, we “Great peace have those who love Your will recommit to live in our purpose, be law, and nothing shall offend them.” She confident in our purpose and support each required that all of us read it seven times other in our purpose walk. out loud, because she believed that it would by then have gotten into our mind I believe that as we accept His purpose, we will learn to appreciate even more the fact that and spirit. He has reminded us that in order to survive we need Him. As individuals, and as a congregation, it is His breath that supports our daily life. If you have been slack in your worship - daily devotion, Christian walk and gathering with your spiritual family - then this is the time to reconnect to the life support. God wants to breath fresh breath into your lungs. But you must be willing to allow Him to breath into you. In other words, you have to relax, let go of your agenda, stop trying to control the outcome and let God pour into you what your soul needs from Him. After all, only He knows exactly what it is that you need.

chose to apply that scripture to defeat the enemy. Well, that is what Jesus did, used the Word. Here are a few things you may want to ponder on. continue on page 4
Attitude Check
How is your attitude today? By Minister Isaac Bazile Philippians 1:12-21 'Seven times a day I praise You . . .' Psalm 119:164 We have all heard the phrase “Your Attitude will determine your Altitude”, at some point in our spiritual walk as well as in the secular community. The question is do we believe that statement to be true? This statement I have found to be very true, not because someone said it to me, but because I have experienced it in my own life. The bible is our guide to help us with our attitude and how we deal with difficult situations of life in general.
I recognize that the number seven stands for spiritual perfection. This number occupies so large a place in the works, and especially in the Word of God, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. An example is that man was If anyone had the credentials to speak on made on the sixth day, and God rested on this subject it was the apostle Paul! the seventh day.
As I stumbled in trying to find the verse, yes I knew it by heart but to be in unison with everyone else, I could not find it for whatever reason. However, I quoted the scripture seven times as she commanded. I took note of this scripture in my spirit, so much so that when I got home the next morning in my devotion I So, whether you are able to join us in the 40 examined the scripture a little more in Days of Purpose each Wednesday or not, I detail. The phrase “great peace”, and the invite you to join us in letting God breath His word “nothing” caught my eyes because fresh breath, I know it sounds like a gum we are living in a generational time that commercial, into your life. everyone is offended from the greatest to the lease. So why did the psalmist say this? Well my curiosity was up. The reason the speaker’s wife loves this scripture is because she believes in it, and she has been tested and tried from it. I know Pastor Marshal, but not as well as others, and they can testify that she truly does not let things move her. She testified Mel A. Perry, Editor In Chief that a sister in the church personally came to her to offend, but Pastor Marshall 2

Look at what he writes in 2 Corinthians 11:23-28. I have ...been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.24 five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. (NIV)
That is enough to make anyone negative and hardened! But that was not his decision! He decided to always be positive in his attitude! July

What people must do the most is to destroy the pride, decrease and let the “Great Peace” in Isaiah 26:3(KJV), Spirit increase. The more of God’s fruit “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, of the spirit is activated in our life, and whose mind is stayed on thee, because less of our attitude and what I think and he trusted in thee”. The key word to this feel. When we desire to please God in verse is trust. Jesus Christ is our “Prince all our ways, His Word becomes a lamp of Peace”. He is the giver of peace. unto our feet and light unto our Peace comes in the package of our pathway. God will give you salvation. But to activate everything in understanding and wisdom in all our package of salvation, one must matters. “Great peace” then becomes a build a personal relationship with our shield and protector to our soul and Lord and Savior. He gives us his Holy spirit. Spirit to help us build that relationship. Then His peace can calm our troubled mind, and brings peace in our Daddy from page 1 conscience and spirit. “Love your law,” which is the Word of God. But today our love, and time, and energy are everywhere else but in God’s Word. The writer that wrote Psalm 119, throughout the entire chapter, continually repeats “I love the law, statue, precept” etc. We must daily read and study the Word of God, and most of all apply it. “It is the love of law, and the belief that the law of God is in accordance with justice, that gives peace to their minds. God’s government is a government of law, and therefore it is loved.” You must love and desire His way. “Nothing shall offend” means to stumble or a stumbling block. These are people that may say or do wrong against you, your disobedience to the Word God and Spirit, how your treat others, how you place monitorial things in your life, keeping only what you like or believe in the Word of God. God’s wisdom and grace works with His Word and Spirit, and through this will give victory over all temptation. I believe if we allow God’s Word to be real in our life, no matter what is said to us, actions taken against us by people, or Satan’s temptation, we can still be conquers in Christ.

people just have a bad attitude about life. We're born naked, wet, and hungry. Then things get worse. Remember, you're unique, just like everyone else. It's as bad as you think, and they are out to get you. Give God praise for every situation, and see how it affects your attitude toward, him, your family, and life in general.
You see our attitude determines our approach to life. A grandma and grandpa went to visit their grandchildren. One day, as a practical joke, the kids decided to put Limburger cheese in his moustache (grandpa). Quite soon he awoke sniffing. "Why “Your Attitude determines your this room stinks," he exclaimed as he Altitude”. We are all faced with got up and went out into the kitchen. New Life Temple Ministries Words from our ministries
Ladies of the Light
“A WORD FROM THE LADIES’ MINISTRY” Wow! God has a way of pushing us to activate our faith! I am still thinking about the word Sis. Colemon reminded us of during Wednesday night bible study. She titled her message, “All is Well.” What a word. When we left our praise was high, thanksgiving was high, and faith was too. When the word goes forth we should leave refreshed and encourage. We have so many things that come to challenge our faith, such as health, family, work and so much more. When you look at things with the naked eye you will always see everything the way it is. But when you see it through the spirit, no matter what it is, “All is Well.” We have to make it a press with urgency like the Shunammite women in II King 4:24. When she met the servant, and he asked her is all well, she said “All is Well.” She did not look at what she was facing, but what God was going to do through Elisha. (II kings 4: 34-35) She activated her faith and received a miracle. Maybe this was just for me, but I just believe we are living beneath our privileges because we do not walk by faith the way we should. I believe it has to be more than just words we say at some point. We have to see things the way they did in the word of God; this has to be more than just

stories we read from the bible, but great testimonies. Maybe this was just for me. I’m not sure, but I know God wants us to have faith in him and look beyond whatever we are facing. Let us keep the praise high, and the worship pure. He will do the rest. I have so much more to say, but there is not enough paper or time. And I think I would lose my train of thought if I keep going, so I better stop now while I’m ahead. Remember, “All is Well.” Just activate your faith. God bless. Until next time! Sis. is actually seen in action, when it is heard in words, it is powerful to the point of accomplishment. Commitment caused Joshua to announce…“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 NKJV) Commitment initiate Job’s words, “…..though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” (Job 13:15, NKJV) Commitment is the foundation of Paul’s confession, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-15, NKJV) Commitment found Daniel in the lion’s den.
COMMITMENT OR WHAT? Commitment, it’s such an absolute word. It does not give room to vacillate. It denotes intense focus and determination. It says that something is worth fighting for; worth whatever it takes to make it work; whatever I must do to get there. Commitment is not an action that society today, nor our Christian family, embraces. We tend to say words that imply commitment, that will get us in the door, yet our indifference soon gets us out of the door. When “commitment” is actually activated, when it
Commitment caused David to dance out of his clothes. However, it was the ultimate commitment of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, “ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8, NKJV) My question to you is where does your commitment find you? Who and what are you truly committed to? That is my truth for this month. Min. Edna Johnson, Director Outreach Ministry

Love today seems a bit too distort and thwarted; the love that is released throughout the media today is honestly a painful disfigurement that has had such a daunting impact upon our society but not a permanent one. Even within the Christian family, as a whole, the love we display is a bit questionable. It might not be so easy on the ears, but this, unfortunately, has been going on. Don't get me wrong, we always can love more and show our love towards one another, but we, as a body, can fall short of loving our brothers and sisters. Are we not our brothers' keeper? I am not pointing fingers, neither is this being directed towards New Life Temple. But as my lovely mom would put it, "Don't put on the shoe if it does not fit." I personally have fallen short sometimes of purely showing God's love towards His children. The reason was because of my lack 6
getting somewhere. Merchant, over a set two year adventure, visited various places and people and was trying to capture different answers for a recurring question: Is the Gospel of Christ Dividing Society? I wish I could slightly tell his story with more detail, but one of the themes I think Merchant was trying to reiterate, and God was trying to give me was we should be loving more and judging less. I am pretty sure we all know what is right, and what is Biblically wrong, but do we still truthfully hold on to "He who is without sin, cast the first stone"? Wisdom should be shared, direction given, and judgment cast away. But the theme that I constantly kept receiving was GOD CREATED EVERYONE WITH A PART OF HIM. Despite the sin that we carry daily and despite how much we may think someone else's sin overrides ours, sin is sin. We are all His creation. Yes, even the
It might be a bit hard to see past the sin and look for the soul that is within because that person still has one, and it is reachable, it is attainable. I thought about how many people I may have missed out on, or how many people I could have witnessed to, or just simply shared, and not forced my beliefs on. When we, as Christians, can sit down and talk and listen and try to at least understand other people that don't share or embrace our God, it says something. This is not surely the only approach to reaching out to people, but this is, however, a great opportunity to step out of that protected haven we so direly need to leap out of. We should not try to shun people away because of what they believe, or because they do not agree with us on everything we say. Everyone has a choice, but we can still witness and testify of God's endless love and mercy and kindness and reality. We know that God is fact, but a huge blockade is hoisted up by the arms of a failure to communicate when we consistently and forcefully tell someone that what they are doing is wrong, and that they are on their way to Hell. We cannot put anyone in a heaven or hell, and we surely should not be the ones to judge. We should keep enough faith in God to know that He will make a way out of no way. He is a way making God, and that He can make anything that seems impossible to us possible. You never know what kind of an effect you July

may have on someone by just simply telling them what God has recently done for you, or sharing something God placed upon your heart to tell them. We are the vessels and He's the speaker. Let us prove our Christianity not just with our words but with our actions. Loving our brothers and sisters, encouraging the sinner, showing that you love with your actions and your words - these things open up so many doors to people and God. So let’s do what we can so He can get the glory.

Well, it looks like I’m at it again...pushing an addiction.
Most of you who My g have read my n i k “Noo columns know on” i s s a P that I have a passionate love for all things electronics. And I have no shame in trying to push my factual based opinions on others, LOL! It is an uncontrollable impulse that overtakes me without warning. It’s never a gradual occurrence. It hits me like category 5 tornado in Kansas. Bamb! Once again , it hit me. No heads up, no sirens! I woke up and felt the need for more love. The desire overwhelmed me until I became and obsessed woman in desperate need! Ok, so I exaggerate a smidge. But I did have dreams for several nights, and often shared my longing with my BFF. I had to have a Nook! My recent trip to Africa left me in need of a good read after I completed my Vince Flynn book. And finding a current magazine to fill me in on all things American was no where to be found. So when I returned home I was a very vulnerable chic. A couple of weeks later, while in South Bend, Indiana, I found myself July

about a marriage. In wanting, or having a good marriage, we have to be vision minded because it will not happen by doing nothing or wishing.
My brother-in-law had already told me that I really needed to give the Nook a try. So after a few moments together, I was ready to make a commitment to invest in a new relationship.
The first step to reviving your marriage is to revive yourself. Yes, you have to renew yourself in the Lord before you can renew or revive your marriage. As with any vision you have to go before the Lord for it to come to pass. Habakkuk 2:2, 3 even says write the vision and make it plain; though it tarry wait for it. After you have wrote it down there need to be some prayer in between the waiting. It takes time to revive us because we have habits we don’t want to let go (such as our tongue or our pride). Also the most important is our attitude. If we allowed God to work on our attitude toward every situation, God will move us by His Spirit instead of us moving by our flesh. God loves us and He doesn’t want to see us fail. In every situation we should seek his guidance. He wants to help us. Proverbs 3:6 says, “in all thy ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy path”. You have to have the faith that no matter what, he won’t let you down.
Like a love struck girl, I chased that Nook all over town, desperately trying to lay my hands on one. I shared my desperation with my BFF. She too hoped and prayed that Nook would return my affection and come to me. And when I called her to tell her that I had found Nook she told me she was so happy for me! LOL! Yea, I know what your thinking... GEEK! But I can’t help but go here...what about God and His purpose! Will we long for Him? Is He free to invade our thoughts, our heart and be the answer to our longing? The day I purchased my Nook, I took pictures and posted them on Facebook and Twitter. I shared my opinion with everyone as to why it is better than the other e-readers, that I refuse to name here, lol. Will I commit to being that passionate about sharing God with the world? Will you?

Couples In Unity REVIVING YOUR MARRIAGE! To revive anything starts with a vision. What is reviving? Reviving is to bring back to life, to restore from an inactive state, a renewed attention or interest in something or someone, and last but not least, it’s a new presentation of something old. Marriage is like a beautiful garden. If you take care of it, it will flourish and grow more beautiful. If you don’t give it attention and nourishment, it will wilt and die and the weeds will over take it. Before anything can be revived, it takes having a vision about that particular thing. Proverbs 29:18a says, “Where there is no vision the people perish.” That can be said
When renewing our self in God it takes us being open and honest before God. We have to let Him know we’re not where we need to be in Him and ask for His help. There are three things that can keep us from being where we need to be: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. Everyone needs constant help in all these areas. Why? Because the devil is on his job to set all these things in front of us, but it’s our job to go before the Lord and continue to acknowledge him in all that comes our way so he can direct us. Without his direction we are totally lost and misguided. How can we help or do anything for our spouse without God’s help. Sometimes we want to provide for our spouse and can’t do it with our means, and pride sets up, or we look for our spouse to provide something and get upset when they can’t, or don’t. First of all, God is our provider. We have taken him out of his spot and put our spouses in that spot. Only Jehovah-jireh, our provider, is able to do abundantly and exceedingly above what we can ask or even think. If we put God back in the provision chair (smile), and seek him for all our needs, we can slow down the pride and be less upset and began to thank God for His will being done. We will see his kindness toward us because he’s not only our provider but he’s our protector also. When we truly get into our place, and let God revive us, he will revive our marriage and take the old inactive marriage and present it new and fresh. How do we recognize that our marriage needs a renewing? To be continued …………………
