Lastly, Pentecost. This holiday is not for the United State of America, or other countries. This day is for the believers, the body of Jesus Christ. The history is found in the Word of God, Acts 2:1 which reads, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty win, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” We may take one day of the year to recognize and celebrate what you can experience every day. If it was not for an obedience Son (Christ Jesus) to God the Father, there would not be any Pentecost. If I could use Revelation 5:12, “saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

Kingdom continue from page 1 never been used by God. None of them appeared, according to man’s standard, to fit all the requirements to handle the job God had purposed and destined for them.
Many of us may have natural abilities, and never forget these came from God to be used by God. However, we have to be careful not to make our abilities our calling. Instead we use them within our calling. My mum always says to me when I’m in my comedic mood, “You missed your calling!” In fact she has said it so much other people have joined her in saying it.

The truth is, many people who have forgotten their essential place in the Kingdom will ignorantly draw you away from your place of calling. I don’t want to spend my life having been useful in the church because there were voids to be filled. I must be an essential, vital piece to the work of God. I must become a necessity to the Kingdom. There is no need for me to pray for God to let me be used in the church. There is always a work to be May/June

done and all you have to do is ask, “Who wants me?” and plenty of people will snatch you into their ministry. But will you be a burden or necessity to that area of ministry. More than likely, over time a burden.
Many of us will do church work. But how many of us will complete Kingdom labor?
You may go in with guns blazing, but when the hype sizzles out, will you stay committed? Will you soon burn out like a candle stick, leaving behind a mess? Will you become a no show, leaving everyone else to pick up your responsibilities.?
God did not save us to be a burden. His desire is that each of us will be a necessity to the Kingdom.
But a few years ago, when hearing I have to wonder if the foolish that statement I cringed. I heard steward who hid his talent in myself say, “I hate when they say Matthew, ever that!” knew what For a moment I saw the danger in his reason for working for statements like that. I had to catch myself, because I almost asked, “And the master was? are you living in your calling?” Now, I know that people say that to me in fun. But how many people who live outside of their God ordained destiny are trying to tell others what their season purpose is?
L
The other two stewards seemed to be well aware of what was required of them. There must have been some sort of relationship between them and the master. A relationship that involved being deposited (instructions) into them and acknowledging (receiving) what was given them. So the question is not, “Lord will you please use me?”, instead, “Lord teach me what it is you want me to do, and give me a passion to do what you have purposed for me to complete.”
How many of us will radically work to fulfill God’s calling as opposed to man’s desired calling? Man’s calling is always more thrilling. But man may leave you to go pat someone else on the back who appears to be doing greater things. God will always be there to guide you through each purpose that leads to completing your destiny.
When we put our heart- my dad would say blood, sweet and tears-into what God has called us to do, the Kingdom thrives. But when we give God our left overs and complain because the Kingdom is pleading with us to share in the labor, we become a burden to the Master. As the hour draws nigh, the Kingdom of God is in need of more laborers who will heed the call of God. Will you be one who answers? Will you accept what God has planned for you, or will you settle for doing what seems to suit you at the moment until it becomes an inconvenience? My constant personal prayer is, “God don’t let me become a burden, but please let me strive to be a necessary tool in the Kingdom...each day I live.”

So I device a plan for the rest of the weekend. Stay close to my friends or engage in intense conversations with the Bishops. It should work, right? WRONG!
The following morning, all seems well. Ok, there may be a few more hugs I have to give out, but hey I can deal with that. After all we all know how much I enjoy hugging people. I just get thrilled at
I may have avoided the kisses, but I sure couldn’t run from the lady who felt it was ok to run her hands through my hair, or the women who found it to be a friendly gesture to give me a rub and pat on the cutush (my hinder parts). And the back rubs, well...I just said oh, well. The day I was to leave for Jo’burg, we stopped by one of the church member’s house. She wanted to give me a gift. So kind of her. But what I didn’t know was “it” was about to happen. I went to give her a hug and cheek to cheek kiss. Thank God for quick reflex. She planted a good long one on my chin. OH, MY GOODNESS! I was a dead deer caught in headlights!

So it’s time to go to the first night of the conference - the Easter Conference. Yea I’m still traumatized! LOL! Trust me, I have made it clear plenty of times, “That is not my culture!” And everyone just laughs. Before my flight, we stopped off at Nando’s, one of my favorite SA eating spots, for lunch. “Bishop, why did all those women keep walking up to me and rubbing and patting me on my...?” “They like you, my girl!” Blank stare...
Now, back home, I find myself looking for people to give a big hug to. I didn’t say I actually do it, lol.
