It is our duty as believers to
Know What His Word Says In this late hour, it is very important for Christians to get into the Word of God; to read it, hear it and learn it. A very popular scripture that is

often quoted out of context, Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
If we neglect to fill our heart with the Word of God and the scriptures, we are destined to walk in the destructive power of ignorance and deception. Many people have repeated scriptures taken out of context so much that they no longer know what God really said.

Can the Lord Trust me? Matthew 25:14, 30
Have you ever honestly asked the question, "Why me, Lord? Why me? Did you really have to trust me this much?" Many of us in the church today know that we are called to do something in the church for the Lord. We are not in the church to just warm the pew, or say an occasional ’Amen’. True, we are not all called to preach the Word of God, however the Lord does not measure by what we do but how we handle the task set before us. What if all he wants you to do is live holy and righteous before him? Can He trust you to do that? He has given you a talent or ministry. Can he trust you to fulfill your purpose in using that talent or ministry? In the parable of the three servants, they are given talents from their master to take care of while he is away. To one he gave five talents, to one he gave two talents and to another he gave one. All of these were given to the servants according to their ability. We all know the parable and the outcome, when God’s trust was lost or reinforced. Trust is a fickle creature. It is easy to lose and a very difficult thing to regain. Do you trust God? But, can God trust you?

start. Have you ever gotten in your car, put the key in the ignition… and then not have it start? How did it make you feel? It should have started! It had started hundreds of times before… but now it didn't. You TRUSTED it to be able to start when you needed it. • We trust that our grocery stores will have food. They may not have the specific brand of cereal or coffee you want, but you TRUST they will have milk, and meat, and bread. • When we have trouble around the house, we trust that the police and firemen will be available to protect us. • And we trust that our friends will BE THERE for us. That our church family will lift us up in prayer and be there in our moments of joy and sadness. Trust is woven into the very fabric of our lives. Without trust, we can hardly function. So, if we feel this way about trust, consider how the Lord feels about trusting us to spread the good news of salvation, living a holy and repented life before him, trusting us to love him and others.
You are probably asking yourself, “How can God trust me? I’m not perfect. I have fallen short so many times.” Here is a little story: There was a preacher who was an avid golfer. Every chance he gets he could be found on the golf course swinging away. It was his obsession. One Sunday was a picture-perfect day for golf. The sun was out, no clouds in the sky, and the temperature was just right. The preacher was in a quandary as to what to do. The urge to play golf overcame him. He called his assistant minister Trust, it's a valuable commodity. and told him that he was sick and could People rarely GIVE trust… usually it's not attend church. Then he packed up something that's earned. But without the car, and drove three hours to a golf course where no one would recognize having trust in someone - or something - it's hard to do anything in him. Happily, he began to play the course. this life. We trust that our cars will Sept/Oct

An angel up above was watching the preacher and was quite perturbed. He went to God and said, "Look at the preacher. He should be punished for what he’s doing." God nodded in agreement. The preacher teed up on the first hole. He swung, and the ball sailed effortlessly through the air and landed right in the cup three hundred and fifty yards away. He shot a perfect hole-in-one. The preacher was amazed and excited. The angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, "Begging your pardon, but I thought you were going to punish him." God smiled. "Think about it -- who can he tell about that shot?" Is it possible that a preacher would miss church for a game of golf? Or for something else: fishing, hunting, a ball game, etc. Depending on the preacher, it is possible. And why would he do such a thing as that? BECAUSE PREACHERS ARE ONLY HUMAN, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE! Just because you fall short doesn’t mean you automatically lose God’s trust. We must constantly strive to earn the Lord’s trust daily because each day brings new challenges, tests and trials. Tim. 1:15-17, "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. The answer is yes, he can trust you if you realize what he expects from each of us and to do his will. Minister Isaac J. Bazile, Director of Men of the Tower
