It’s All About the Sacrifices By Mel A. Perry Earlier this year I participated in the Texas Med 5K. I can’t say that my agreeing to take part in such a wonderful event was based on the fact that I was contributing to a well deserving cause. I agreed to do the event out of insistence of my best friend, and the knowledge I would get a cool t-shirt. Very sad reasons. Ok, the exercise would be great. However, after I did some research on what this race was really about, I realized that it was for a greater cause. A cause far beyond me. But once again a sort of selfish reason resurfaced. The benefit hit close to home. But this time it was not about me, but about those I care about.
sacrifices to advance the Kingdom of God and to help others. If the church looses this understanding, we have lost our whole purpose for existing. When we look at the Apostles and the early church, what we read on those pages are the accounts of men and women who made such great sacrifices, even the cost of their lives, so that the Gospel would reach all of the known world. How many lives are dependent on our sacrifices as a Christian? How many people have been denied their right to the Gospel because we have been negligent in our willingness to make sacrifices for the Kingdom?
Recently I received a postcard My reply to a Bishop who inviting me to take part in the 2010 apologized for not using “proper Texas Med 5K. I knew I wanted to do protocol” in addressing me was, “titles it, not because of the nice t-shirt or don’t matter, but rather how we live in because it would be another activity that Strongly encouraged for all members the office. Words to Ponder LIL Chocolate BoY AKA - Charles Ademolu
People always say, "Be careful what you do because you never know who's watching." As cliche as this may be, the declaration, which most people repetitiously hear, shouldn't be taken likely. I say this simply because we all know that the world isn't getting better, especially being in the end of days. I know I'm not the only who has heard someone full heartedly say, "Oh yeah, I am a Christian" Yet, you can see that same exact person call another person everything but a child of God, or see them walk into a club with their "cross" on, or see that same person contradict every commandment in the bible, and then some. No other word can describe this mess but B-L-A-S-P-H-E-M-Y! This entire world has come to talking the talk but never walking the walk for Christ. But thank God I know some bold, die-hard Christians that can do what the bible says. I'm not saying that they are all perfect because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. but I am saying that they are being that walking bible despite shortcomings. You'll find out, if you haven't already, that as soon as you label yourself as a "Christian" to people, you better live up to it with your whole heart to where it’s real, pure, and true. If you contradict yourself and blaspheme God, we then are helping people in the wrong way: leading them to Hell. Yes, it is easier to sin, but that's why we aren't conformed of this world, yet only made of this world in this temporary body called flesh. If the real Christians aren't on their duty, then the "Christians" that can teach you how to fornicate better than anybody on the block, or hold that cigarette the correct way is. Last time I checked, the GAME was OVER! Let us take back what has been ours for the longest. step up to the plate and show these "Christians" how to live: through the word of God.

When they Come Together
During my last years in college I had a secret desire to be a columnist. I was under the impression that I had something to say on just about any subject, and people wanted to read about. Through these monthly write ups I have managed to live out my ego feeding fantasy. I mean we all have them, some more twisted than others.
use modern means to move through those walls and touch? It should not be the only step, but it may be the first step that allows us to be more effective in reaching the whole world for Christ.
Wow! Does that sound like some twisted proclamation that you might read about in the confessional of a journalist who has come to realize that the world really can move without them?
Now, I’m not going to say that the best smart phone out there is the only way to get it done.Aafter all, I have a friend who has managed to minster by creating notes and tagging friends on Facebook on his Razer phone. However, since I do love the BlackBerry, I think it has to be one of the best ways to get the “message” out.
Non-the-less, I find my little tirades of mental thoughts, not so secret addictions, or just plan moments of joy wonderful to share. Ego feeding, are we? LOL! No, really I do enjoy sharing things that only prove that I’m as quirky as everyone thinks I am. My parents always told me I was a strange one. So why not let their words be true. And so once again I share with you... I’ve come to realize I have two great quest in this life, outside of the God given commission. First, I have made it my aim to turn the whole world into Blackberry dependents, as I am a true addict who despite my confession a couple of weeks ago can not live without them (I still have the other two). And secondly, to encourage every young person, especially ladies, to live and see the world. Before there was iPhone there was BlackBerry. And now that there is iPhone, in its one dimensional state, there is the multi-dimensional BlackBerry in all its glory. It is amazing how this phone has made the world so small for me. Ok, the same can be said for most smartphones...I will only say that once. The truth is, the world has become as close as my finger tips. Not only is it close, but also seconds away. With such resource, I’m always wondering just how much more can the church do in spreading the Gospel. If modern technology has made the world small and closer, how easy should it be to spread the message of Christ to the world. Of course there are still barriers. But our ability to reach out has been extended. Unfortunately we are still the last and lest likely to take advantage. We use excuses like “I’m just not into it”, “It’s impersonal”...I like that one, because the reality is we do live in a world of walls and barriers. But can we
Honestly, I think that knowledge only increases my love of modern technology, and my determination to convince more people to get in on the “move”.
Now to my second passion. There is no teacher or experience like travel. A professor commented to me a couple of years a ago, after asking me if I intended to go back to school and shoot for a doctoral degree, that there is very little college would teach me outside of what I have learned from traveling abroad. Not that I didn’t totally agree with her, but how would that feed my ego...never Dr. M.P.? I’m always trying to convince young people that there is a whole other world with their name on it if they want it. It’s a world full of texture, dimension and experience. You see I’m of the opinion that the majority of people are racist or prejudice simply because their world is so small. In traveling I’ve learned that people for the most part really do act alike. And most places are a reflection of another place. It’s fun reading about a place, its beauty, culture and smell. But it is a whole other experience of pure delight in seeing with your eyes what your mind could only imagine. Sort of sounds like our spiritual journey to heaven. Now when I fuze my two passions, my small world becomes large again. The experience never ends, nor does my ability to touch people, personally or spiritual, never cease. I like to think of it as global evangelism. Even if you never take a trip across the pond, you still have the ability to take part in global evangelism. After all, sharing your faith is only a few keys away. Why not give it a try.

We believe in one eternal God; infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose, as well as, omniscient and omnipresent. We believe this one true God, who revealed Himself as Father in Creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Ghost in regeneration. We believe that - in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell. We believe in the death, burial and resurrection. We believe in being born again of water-by immersion in the name of the Lord “Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and in Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost - speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing. We believe in presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. We believe in expressions of praise with lifted hands, hand clapping, playing of musical instruments, voice of praise and dancing. The purpose of New Life Temple Church is to instill the faith of Jesus Christ into the lives of ALL PEOPLE, bringing them into spiritual perfection with a spirit of excellence.
