Music
Fran Mariscal
-Interview.
Fran Mariscal is a young musician born in Prado del rey a village in the mountains of Cรกdiz. He and Lena Carrilero are giving a small tour around Spain.
Why are you doing music? Because music let me breathe, forget, recorder and feel alive.
How did you start? I started when i was nine years old in the band of my village. I played the drum, shortly after I started with saxophone. Six years ago i also started to play guitar.
What instrument do you prefer? I like playing all the instruments that I have available, but I only know how to play the saxophone and a little the guitar, just enough to compose my songs.
How many demos do you have? How do they arise? Do you feel satisfied about them? I have three demos. They came out of curiosity to see what people thought about my music. Always satisfied, there has been much development of each other, especially with respect to the last. Right now I seem awful record a demo as I did the first, but at the time i had fun and I liked it.
Do you prepare any other projects? I play the saxophone in a group of reggae and also prostitute me, musically speaking, do you know? That bad habit that musicians have to eat.
Do you collaborate with any group? Or do you prefer to work alone? I usually play with various groups, as I said before. The feeling of playing with a group and playing alone are, for me, very different. I love both and I need both to live happily.
When did you start playing live? What are you doing now? Any special concert? I started playing live with the band of my village since I was very little. After I have been a member of some bands with friends, they were very funny. I have good memories of a rock-band in which I was guitarist, Esparto. And I do not know, I’ve been playing since childhood, I’ve never done the math of the concerts that I take. Specials are all concerts where the audience listens to me. Now I’m doing a tour with a singer, Lena Carrilero, a friend. We call our self Los flacos and things are going very well.
What kind of music do you prefer? My main inspiration is rock, it is what I hear since I was little and what makes me hornier. Groups like Extremoduro, Platero y tú, Tide, Barricada marked me in my life.
Have you ever done formal training? Or Are you self-taught? I was at a music school to learn solfa and music theory for a long time; I remember I had to leave it in the second year of high school because I had no time. With the saxophone i have trained, I am self-taught with the guitar.
Do you do other forms of art? I used to do a lot of photographs. I like writing, walking, dreaming...
How do you get inspired to compose? I just need some striped head, and that is very common to me. But when I do a song, I like to do it little by little, until it tells me that it’s already finished.
Any songs that do you feel particularly proud of? I like it all. If I did not like a song at the time I made it, I never would make it in public.
How has your work evolved over the years? Day a day I’m skinnier, I eat badly and I have not money, but I’m happy because I do the only thing I really like.
Do you think it is important the role of the internet in all this? Right now, yes, it is a way to show the songs that everyone wants to hear, it is a great form of communication between people and a form of feedback culture.
Can you pay your bills with your music? Are you trying to do it? In September last year I finished college and I devoted myself to music. Playing with groups, as a songwriter, recording demos in my studio. I also work at a local concert as a sound technician and waiter most nights. Rather than make a living as a musician, I earn a living as a musician, I survive.

Photography
Joss Correia
- Interview.
Joss Correia is an amateur photographer born in San Roque, a small town of Cadiz. He is preparing his first photographic exhibition. Its name is De lo Cotidiano. You can visit it from March 27 to April 10, in the Delegación de juventud in San Roque.
Why do you choose this stage name? Well the truth is I’ve always had a special attraction for the languages and decided to translate my name in English. A good way to short my real name and make it more attractive.
Why do you do photography? I discovered that with photography I am free; I can show the world my ideas, my thoughts, and a new way of seeing life.
How did you start? By chance, I started work with my camera when I decided to study at the School of Art in Algeciras (Cádiz) and since then the photography caught me.
Which is yours favorite photography type? I love self-portrait, when an idea is born is the best way to carry it out. But I also love working with models, it helps me to gain new experiences, meet new people and convey ideas through them.
What kind of techniques and cameras do you prefer? Definitely, I prefer digital cameras. Digital gives you more options when you create your own world.
Do you prefer to spend more time shooting and less to the digital edition or the opposite? Depends on the idea, some ideas require Photoshop. In contrast others are perfect on the first shot without computer processing.

When you take a picture do you usually do a sketch first? The truth is no.
Tell me about your first exhibition. How did it arise? What’s it about? How do you feel about that? I decided to prepare an exhibition to let me know, because I love to show my perspective of the world and learn other people reactions. It shows many issues, mainly reflecting feelings of loneliness, sadness, freedom, love... these are some of the most important. I’m excited to be able to show my work to the world and I am grateful for the support that i constantly receive.
Do you prepare any other projects? Yes, of course. My mind works without rest, I have many other projects to do and others almost finished.
Do you collaborate with any group? Do you prefer working alone? I didn’t have the opportunity to work in a group, but i would like to work with more photographers with the same enthusiasm as me, but for now I’m working alone.
What inspires you to take a picture? There are many forms of inspiration: watching other artists work or even spend an entire sleepless night waiting for the birth of an idea.
Do you have any photograph that you feel particularly proud of? I appreciate all of them, but I want to highlight the following:
7
Are there any pictures that you would have wanted to do but you could not? Yes, many. Sometimes I have not the right to make or just I have not found the models.
How has your work evolved over the years? I think favorably. My technique has improved and my ideas are more personal and meaningful.
Do you think is important the role of the internet in all this? Well, internet is good to promote yourself and show your work in other countries. But surely, I prefer the excitement and glamour of the exhibits.
What are your influences? Chema Madoz and Dina Goldstein. Two of the first great photographers I met them on the internet and today they continue to impact me.
Have you ever done artistic training? Slight. Because I had to leave my studies.
Do you do other forms of art? I love music, film and painting. Although now I only do pictures.
What do you think of your future as a photographer? I want to work with other people with the same desire and continue showing to the world my works.

Bakenti wants to be movie. The project scripted by Julieta Triangular and Carmen S. Esplandiu, former students of the Escola superior i audiovisuals de Catalunya, needs financing to become film. In February they made public the teaser. It is now circulating in the social networks. With them he intended to get attention and support using the technique of crowdfunding. It is an ambitious project that aims to tell the story of a warrior who must protect the heart of the earth. “Bakenti (the warrior) will go over different paths trying to find her ultimate hope: the last survivor of the seven children of the Panther, who were buried alive and suffocated to death underground. He is living at the source of the river, a sacred place where a tree grew creating an invisible ladder connecting earth with heaven. When the encounter takes place the mysteries of the jungle will be revealed. In that moment, the earth’s crust will shed like a snake skin and a new cycle will begin.” They explained.
Juliet and Carmen were inspired by the Shipibo-Conibo, indigenous people that lives along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest. And here is where they want to shoot this fantasy story. The culture of the Shipibo is based on spiritual and physical relationship with the forest. They have ceremonial songs called Icaros. They want to portray this aesthetic mixing with magic. The title means giving birth in Shipibo language. Hopefully these young directors get to make their first big project.

Obra 67
-It is another way to make films.
Obra 67 was released in a cinema last November at the European Film Festival in Sevilla. This film was written and directed by David Sainz, it is his first long-film. David got some fame as a writer and director from the web serie Malviviendo. The serie is set in a fictional suburb of Sevilla. It tells the story of a group of friends with a peculiar life marked by the drug. To make the serie, David and his group did not have funding and the actors were not professionals, they are the protagonists. We can find it subtitled in Italian and French. After He made a serie for Canal Sur called Flaman, It had not so accepted by the public, but it was a jump to the small screen. The film, Obra 67, adheres to the #littlesecretfilm initiative that calls for a production model based in this rules:
#Little: A little film shot in 24 hours by a small film crew. #Secret:
A secret film production in complete secrecy without any public communication until the day of its release.
#Online:
A free online film premiere, promoted through social networks by the hastagh #littlesecretfilm.
#Love: A cinematic act of love of cinema and internet in the XXI Century. This initiative aims to change the conception that many filmmakers (and artistic producers) have of the internet, internet as an opportunity and not as an enemy. The current generation, as David Sainz, owed a lot to the internet and to the viewers. Because more important than making films or doing any kind of art is that people can see it and enjoy it. How long major national awards need to assess these proposals?

Theather
Yes or not
- My personal voice.
The theater classroom of the University Pompeu Fabra debut in May with the play Per un si o per un no written by Natalie Sarraute originally in French. The group is composed by eleven people and directed by Pep Anton. They spent months preparing for this moment, meeting every Friday for four hours. They have combined their studies with their passion for the theater, as part of the same university. I know that because for two months I have photographed them weekly. The best way to learn how to direct actors is getting close to them, and that’s what I’ve done. Actually, my original intention was to take a photo essay on the group. Also I will make the poster that advertised the exhibition. No, I’m not very objective about it.
Pep Anton likes to innovate and interact with the public. The space of representation is not divided between stage and audience seating, all players will be seated among the spectators in chairs arranged in a disorderly way. Sssh! This is a secret. Per un si o per un no tells the story of two friends, they discussed about the pronunciation of some words, not for the content but for the way, a bad placed accent can break a friendship. The eleven actors play these two roles alternately. A rare and daring way to understand the theater. I can assure you that the work will surprise you. And it is free!

Art
Collective Infarto en Shangai. Infarto en Shanghai is a group originally formed by students of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. They pose an alternative to institutional art circuit in which new creative possibilities are slim. They choose the house of one member, one or more rooms are emptied of furniture and they organize their own exposure. In times of crisis the imagination is the best solution. Thus, they seek alternative ways to spread the art. The idea came a night when some friends were drinking beer in the house of José Luís Panea. After some of them complained about how hard are to expose without contacts, He said “Why not prepare an exhibition in my house?” This happened in April 2013. Eight people participated in the first exhibition. At the entrance to the house they placed a chalkboard with a map, although the possibility of getting lost was unlikely. Photographs, prints, paintings and even video art in an old television led for the occasion were presented there. Each one chose the subject that each one wanted and how each one wanted. They believe that the creators have to generate an artistic circuit, creating alternative is not an option, is a necessity.
At present the group has twenty five members and prepares its fourth exhibition. It has the title of Da nieve. Infarto en Shanghai has announced the date: from 18 to 22 March. The place is still secret.
