try over that span of time. • The following are the top-five programs with the most home wins since 2004-05 (credit to former Athletics Communications Assistant Bryan McEldowney for compiling this list):

FEDEXFORUM NEWBIE • Bradley is the third of eight teams making their first visits to FedExForum in 2014-15. • Memphis hosted its first FedExForum newcomer Nov. 24 when Prairie View A&M played the Tigers. Memphis won that game 77-49. • On Dec. 2, Stephen F. Austin was the second first-time visitor to FedExForum, and the Lumberjacks posted a 64-52 win over Memphis. • Other FedExForum newcomers in 2014-15 are: Oklahoma State Dec. 13, N.C. Central Dec. 15, USC Upstate Dec. 17, Western Illinois Dec. 23 and Jacksonville State Feb. 4. • Under head coach Josh Pastner, Memphis has a 25-3 record (.893 winning percentage) against FedExForum newbies (2009-present). • In the Pastner era, the Tigers won their first 14 contests against opponents making their first trips to FedExForum. Murray State ended the streak with a narrow 76-72 win Dec. 11, 2011.

LEARNING TO SHARE • With the Tigers having 10 first-year players in 2014-15, the team is slowly trying to learn what has become a signature of Josh Pastner squads — sharing the ball. • In recent seasons, Memphis has been one of the top teams in assists per game, and the following shows that (along with this year’s current rank): Season Asst/Game 2014-15 10.0 2013-14 17.4 2012-13 16.8 2011-12 14.5 2010-11 14.6 2009-10 13.8 * through 5 games

HIGH DISHIN’ EQUALS MADE SHOTS • One of the main reasons Memphis head coach Josh Pastner loves high assists numbers: it leads to easier shots and more field goals made. • In each of his previous five seasons, Pastner’s squads have assisted on over 50 percent of the team’s field goals made, and the following shows that (also lists this season’s numbers after five games): Season FGM Assts Pct. 2014-15 105 50 47.6 2013-14 958 591 61.7 2012-13 976 605 62.0 2011-12 933 506 54.2 2010-11 891 512 57.5 2009-10 854 468 54.8

TIGERS TRYING TO AVOID ... • When they host former Missouri Valley Conference rival Bradley Saturday, the Tigers will look to avoid a couple of bad skids. • First, Memphis will try to avoid back-to-back losses since the start of the 2012-13 season. The last time the Tigers dropped consecutive games was in the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis, where they fell to VCU and Minnesota. • Next, the Tigers will attempt to avoid back-toback home losses since the end of the 2004-05 regular season. Memphis lost to Louisville and Cincinnati in its final two home contests that season. • Next, Memphis will look to avoid consecutive non-conference setbacks since December of 2004 when the Tigers lost to Louisiana Tech and Providence. • And finally, the Tigers will try to avoid the program’s first 2-4 start since 2000-01. That season, Memphis opened the campaign with a 2-6 record. TIGERS’ M*A*S*H UNIT • Josh Pastner and his players have stated over and over that this has been the most physical preseason in his six seasons as head coach. • And the numbers prove it. • Eight Tigers, including seven on scholarship, have suffered injuries or illnesses that forced them to miss practices. • The cumulative number of practices missed has been 65 to date (as of Dec. 4).
