FOND TULSA MEMORIES/PART II • The next Memphis fond memory was the 201112 regular-season finale at the Reynolds Center.

• The Tigers entered the game needing a win to clinch the outright C-USA regular-season crown. • Memphis won the game 78-66 to capture the league title. • The Tigers won the conference regular-season title by overcoming a one-game deficit in the standings in the last two weeks of the season. FOND TULSA MEMORIES/PART III • The third fond memory came in the 2009 regular-season match-up at Tulsa — and it was a thrilling finish for Tigers fans. • With only :04.5 left, it looked as if the Tigers’ Conference USA win streaks would come to an end at Tulsa on Jan. 13, 2009. • The Golden Hurricane took a 54-53 lead on two Ben Uzoh free throws, but Memphis had one final chance. • Using the play called “Maryland,” Antonio Anderson took the in-bounds pass from Willie Kemp near midcourt and streaked up the right side. Anderson charged toward the basket and double-clutched a layup over Jerome Jordan at the buzzer for the 55-54 victory. • The victory extended the Tigers’ C-USA win streaks to 45 games overall (including postseason tournament) and 36 regular-season games. • Memphis’ league win streaks continued through January of 2010 when both were broken versus UTEP. The 64-game overall win streak tied an NCAA record, while the 52-game regular-season win streak is an NCAA mark. • On the Memphis bench during that Jan. 13, 2009, game was Josh Pastner, then an assistant.

FOND TULSA MEMORIES/PART IV • The final fond memory came in the 2007-08 campaign. • After they took over the No. 1 spot in both national polls in 2007-08, the Tigers’ first foe was Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla., on Jan. 23, 2008. • Memphis moved to the top position in both national polls on Jan. 21, 2008, and then two days later, met the Golden Hurricane in the Reynolds Center. • Memphis won that encounter 56-41. TIGERS VS. OKLAHOMA DIVISION I PROGRAMS • In their history, the Tigers have played all four NCAA Division I programs from the state of Oklahoma. • Overall, Memphis is 39-20 (.661 winning percentage) against Sooner state foes Oklahoma (6-0), Oklahoma State (3-5), Oral Roberts (7-2) and Tulsa (23-13). • Under head coach Josh Pastner, Memphis is 8-3 versus NCAA Division I programs from the state of Oklahoma. • The Tigers play three of the four NCAA Division I schools from Oklahoma in 2014-15. • In addition to Wednesday’s Tulsa encounter, Memphis already met Oklahoma State (73-55 loss) Dec. 13 and Oral Roberts (78-63 win) Dec. 20 and faces Tulsa a second time Feb. 28. IVERSON TO TRANSFER • The University of Memphis announced Jan. 16 that sophomore Kuran Iverson will transfer to another program and will not return to the basketball program. • Iverson plans to remain a student at the University this spring and is focusing on his academics. • The 6-foot-9 forward played in eight games this season and averaged 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds. • He missed the season’s first five games due to a concussion suffered in a mid-November practice. FINDING HIS COURT GROOVE • Tigers fans have gotten familiar with Kedren Johnson’s musical talents. • But, the 6-foot-4 guard hadn’t found his groove on the court — that is until recently. • In the two games against Houston and Cincinnati, Johnson averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 25.5 minutes of action. • Johnson shot 85.7 percent from the field (6of-7), 100 percent from the arc (2-of-2) and 75 percent from the free throw line (9-of-12). • Memphis won the two games over Houston 6244 and Cincinnati 63-50. CRASHING THE BOARDS • The Tigers’ focus in the off-season was on the defensive end, and one area of defense the team worked on was the glass — especially ending opponents’ possessions after one shot. • Memphis has shown what it learned in the early portion of 2014-15. • The Tigers are third in the American Athletic Conference in rebound margin at +6.5 • The Tigers are second in the conference in offensive rebounds (13.1) and third in the league in defensive rebounds (25.5). • In their win over UCF Jan. 17, the Tigers out-rebounded the Knights 53-24 for a +29 rebound margin. • The +29 rebound margin is the largest in the Josh Pastner era. LEARNING TO SHARE • With the Tigers having nine first-year players in 2014-15, the team is slowly trying to learn what has become a signature of Josh Pastner squads — sharing the ball. • And Memphis has seen the results of lessons learned from sharing the ball in recent games. • In the last 12 contests from Dec. 6-Jan. 17, the Tigers averaged 16.2 assists per game. This year, the top performing APR scores ranged from 978 to a perfect 1,000. The most-recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.

TIGERS LOOKING FOR 15TH 20-WIN SEASON • With the 2014-15 season officially underway, the Tigers are looking for a 15th-straight, 20win season and a 15th-consecutive postseason berth. • In 2012-13, the Tigers set the record for consecutive 20-win seasons with their 13th straight. The previous record was 12 from 1982-93. • The 2014-15 Tigers will attempt to add to the program’s current school record of 14-straight postseason bids (10 NCAA, 4 NIT). Last season, Memphis advanced to the NCAA Tournament third round. • Prior to this current record run of 14-straight postseason berths, Memphis had two six-year stretches in which it reached the postseason. • The previous two six-year postseason spans were 1972-77 (2 NCAA, 4 NIT) and 1988-93 (4 NCAA, 2 NIT). • The following shows the top-five longest streaks of 20-win seasons in Tigers history:
