Kelly D. Price, founder of the Memphis Entrepreneurship Academy (MEA), decided that youth in elementary and middle school were ready at younger ages to understand business principles.

Students in the program meet twice a month to learn about creating a business plan, building a business and coding for technology-driven businesses.

Doreathea Owens a parent who lives in Jackson, TN said, “I decided to look for a S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program for my daughter Kayla (9 years old) because she was starting to show greater interest in Math and in completing experiments.”
