LABORATORY The four elements project

01. The prodact below is the fruit of a workshop based on using object differently than they were designed. It’s all started with the analysis at a product in every single aspect, and then create a diagram which represent thosw aspects, and then create a diagram that represents the characteristics of the analyzed vegetable, through a sequence of periodic letters and numbers.

Workshop: ‘‘QUAD’’ by Samuel beckett. Design and performance integral an interdisciplinary work design, costumes, scenography and music.

The workshop is dedicated to the work of Samuel Becket ‘’ QUAD’’. the work was re-interpreted by the architect Carlos Campos through clothes that were meant to completely cover the model and to be designed with alternative materials. in my case the dress was made with: cotonfic, cotton and make-up pads.

DETAILS

PERFORMANCE ‘‘QUAD’’

Beckett called it a “television madness” expressly written for the Stuttgart School of Dance: to move four dancers along the lines of an invisible square on the floor to the rhythm of percussion. Each dancer, completely covered by a hooded cloak, enters the scene, following his path accompanied by the sound of the percussion that distinguishes him and leaves coming back into the darkness at the edge of the scene. The camera is fixed above the scene of action and ruthlessly frames this obsessive ballet from top to bottom. All for a duration of about twenty minutes.

INSPIRATION

COTONE

The project gea was born from the collaboration with a colleague of the course and represents a fusion between the ancient world - from which the art of dyeing naturally through the use of flowers, plants and food - and the modern world takes shape, borrowing forms current and intelligent mechanisms like (zipmobili, automatics) thanks to which it is possible to make the dress mobile and smart.

This project was born from the analysis of the futurist movement. Everything started from a futuristic novel that has been translated into a transformable dress. the whole project represents the intention to overthrow the steriotypes of traditional art. From this derives the name of ‘’ CIELINFIAMME ‘’

the project idea

GRAPHIC CREACTION Laboratory 2.0

The project idea is based on the study of a typical Italian garden inside the palace of Caserta. The Italian garden with its architecture and its fascinating scenic solutions, represent a fundamental reference for the evolution of taste and culture. Every Italian garden has a story. It is never random, it is square because there are four parts of the world, the roads that run through it represent the cardinal points and the four squares are the primordial elements: water, air, earth and fire. In the middle there is usually a well or a fountain because water represents life.

HH

PROJECT The project is inspired by the primordial elements that form the typical Italian garden of the palace of Caserta, namely air, water, earth and fire. A deity is attributed to every primordial element. The intent of the project was to create 4 collections inspired by the 4 elements of the earth. So going to the place where I was able to photograph the faces of the statues that most interested me, then later with the use of Photoshop I chose to use a double-exposure graphic effect to make the print of the statue that would later be applied on T-shirts on foulars and shirts.
