Procrastination
So, for today, I’ve found the way, I need to say, “Just do it!”
So then, again, I take the pen, But in the end, “Oh, screw it!”
Another Think Coming! Poems and Stuff
“In 2020 we’ve had a major comet. Comets used to predict disasters, once upon a time. We’ve had a pandemic. Did the comet predict it? Or did the comet predict something entirely more wonderful instead: Ginger Zyskowski’s new creations in poetry! I choose Ginger’s Another Think Coming! as the most important thing of 2020, predicted by the Great Comet of 2020! Thank you, Ginger. We needed that!”
—Dean Andersson, writer
As I watched Ginger rehearse and then perform in front of a live audience, something about her poems seemed familiar to me, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. As I read this wonderful book of hers, it immediately comes to mind. Ginger reminds me of the Liverpudlian Beat Poets of the ’60s and ’70s, particularly Roger McGough. She has a wonderfully pared style that allows so much emotion and humour (sic) to be transmitted in the minimum number of words possible. Ginger’s opening poems “Procrastination” and “A Thought” are excellent examples of this. Fun is never far from Ginger’s deft fingertips, but be ready for a dollop of pathos as well.
—Dave McKane, poet
After a 60-year career as a professional percussionist and educator, Ginger now devotes time to other artistic projects. Poetry is one of them. Her first chapbook is Love and Lovers.
Ginger currently lives in Seattle where her creative projects include writing, painting, and making functional fiber art with hand-spun and hand-dyed yarn. The rest of her time is spent enjoying her extended family. She writes a blog for her website at www.gingerz.works.
