DEAR LADIES, KINDLY PAY ATTENTION Discover your path to a balanced life. Juggling various roles, from career to motherhood, often leaves women feeling off-balance. Resist the quick fix of drugs; Western medicine's surface-level solutions rarely address the root cause of hormonal imbalance. This prevalent issue among women, if ignored, can escalate into serious health risks like diabetes and heart disease. Truhealing emerged from personal struggle, aiming to empower women to overcome hormonal imbalances naturally. By sharing my journey from PCOS to autoimmune thyroid disease recovery, I aspire to guide others towards lasting well-being.

WHAT IS HORMONE IMBALANCE?

Hormones, the body's chemical messengers produced by glands like the thyroid, adrenals, pancreas, and reproductive organs, play a crucial role in regulating vital processes such as metabolism, growth, mood, immunity, and reproduction. A disruption in normal hormone levels results in a hormonal imbalance, where levels become either too high or too low. This imbalance can stem from various factors, including medical conditions like diabetes, age-related hormonal shifts, chronic stress affecting adrenal glands, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, medication effects, and genetic predispositions to hormone-related conditions such as PCOS or thyroid disorders.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF HORMONAL IMBALANCE Changes in menstrual cycle - Irregular periods, heavy or painful periods, missed periods etc can indicate hormonal imbalance in women. Mood changes - Depression, anxiety, irritability, mood swings can signal hormone issues like thyroid, estrogen or testosterone imbalance. Changes in sex drive - Increased or reduced libido can be a symptom of low testosterone or estrogen levels. Fatigue - Tiredness, low energy and exhaustion can indicate low thyroid, low estrogen or low testosterone. Sleep disturbances - Difficulty sleeping or staying asleep could indicate cortisol or melatonin imbalance. Weight changes - Unexpected weight gain or inability to lose weight may indicate thyroid, cortisol or insulin imbalance. Hair loss or increased facial/body hair - Can be a sign of low thyroid, low estrogen or high testosterone. Hot flashes - Sudden feelings of warmth spreading through body indicates hormonal changes or imbalance. Night sweats - Episodes of excessive sweating at night are linked to hormonal imbalance. Skin issues - Acne, dry skin, thin skin can signal hormonal imbalances. Digestive problems - Changes in appetite, bloating, constipation etc may indicate hormone imbalance. Brain fog - Inability to focus, lack of mental clarity may be caused by hormone disruptions. Swings in blood sugar levels - May be a symptom of imbalanced insulin or diabetes risk.

WHAT CAUSES HORMONE IMBALANCE? The environment is not very friendly to women’s hormones these days and there are a number of factors affecting this balance. Medications (especially birth control), soy, rancid fats and oils, lack of healthy fats, hormones in meat and dairy products, pesticides, pollution and plastics are some of the main ones. I will address one of the top factors here – Birth Control pill. For many unfortunate reasons, we are choosing synthetic chemical agents that alter the natural cycles of the body. Birth control is being used for acne, “hormone balancing,” or simply “convenience” of not having a menstrual cycle. This is traumatic on many levels to the woman and society as a whole. This is contrary to God’s design of women. Birth control is one of the biggest reasons for infertility today. Even after stopping birth control, the dangerous negative effects of synthetic estrogens are long-lasting such as infertility, increased risk of cancer and stroke, decreased bone density, high blood pressure, yeast overgrowth, and infections.

WHAT PROMOTES HORMONAL BALANCE? As we work to eliminate all or most of the above factors, let’s also focus on healing the body to promote health.

1. FOCUS ON YOUR EATING HABITS: Quality fruits and vegetables are best. Avoid SOY. Eat good quality fats: What does an avocado look like? An ovary. It takes 9 months from blossom to a mature fruit. Avocados and olives are great food for good ovary health. And citrus fruit is great for breast health. Limit consumption of sugar, caffeine, processed foods. IC-3 from cruciferous vegetables. Supplement or eat cruciferous vegetables, especially steamed! Broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, etc. Increase fiber intake. We don’t want constipation. Citrus peels from lemons and limes remove excess estrogen. Eat OATS. Oatmeal will remove bad estrogen.

2. EXERCISE AND SUNSHINE! Exercise gets you grounded and connected to the earth which rebalances your hormones. Exercises also stimulate the production of many hormones. Sunshine on your skin and sun in your eyes is what starts the cycle of hormone production in the human body. Sunlight should govern waking up and going to sleep. Sunlight is needed to produce Vitamin D and also melatonin so you can get a good night’s rest. Without melatonin production, it can be difficult to sleep for many. Fertility is also governed by moonlight.

3. REDUCE STRESS Chronic stress raises cortisol which disrupts hormone balance. Practice relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, deep breathing. Get enough sleep and take time for self-care.

4. DECREASE SYNTHETIC ESTROGEN LEVELS Avoid chemical contaminants, birth control, synthetic hormones, hormone filled meat and dairy, plastics, pesticides, etc.

5. INCREASE METHYL DONOR GROUPS Methylation is required to pull good hormones into the system. Bad hormones are missing vital methyl groups such as- MSM (sulfur), TMG, B-6, B-9, B-12, Glutathione, Melatonin. Raw fruits and vegetables are a good source of glutathione which is the mother of all antioxidants. Take a good B-vitamin complex.

6. INCREASE PROGESTERONE LEVELS WITH HERBS AND FOODS Coconut Avocado Turmeric Berries like amla support the endocrine system and boost progesterone production

7. LIMIT ALCOHOL INTAKE Consuming alcohol regularly, even in moderation, can disrupt hormone balance. Alcohol impacts liver function, which plays a role in metabolizing and regulating hormones. Reducing alcohol intake allows your liver to function optimally and helps restore hormonal equilibrium.

8. OPTIMIZE VITAMIN & MINERAL INTAKE Nutrient deficiencies in key vitamins and minerals can affect the function of endocrine glands responsible for hormone production. Taking supplements like vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins can provide needed nutrients to support your endocrine system and improve hormone regulation.

9. IMPROVE GUT HEALTH Your gastrointestinal system hosts trillions of gut bacteria that have complex effects on the endocrine system and influence hormone levels. Optimizing your gut microbiome by taking probiotics and eating fermented foods helps digest hormones and promotes a balance of gut bacteria that positively interact with your hormones.

10. AVOID ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS Limiting exposure to toxins and chemicals like BPA from plastics, pesticides, parabens in beauty products, phthalates in plastics, etc. can minimize interference with your endocrine system. This prevents disruptions that lead to imbalanced hormone levels.

11. GET ADEQUATE SLEEP Lack of quality sleep interferes with circadian rhythms and physiological restoration needed for proper hormonal balance. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night minimum to allow your endocrine glands to restore hormone production and release.

12. SEEK PROFESSIONAL CARE Consulting doctors who specialize in endocrinology and hormone health can provide personalized care, testing, and treatments tailored to your specific hormonal imbalance. This may include prescription medications, bioidentical hormones, or other therapies to restore optimal hormone levels. Life is all about choices we make. May this year we choose nature. May this year we choose rejuvenation and healing. To a healthier and hormonally balanced you! We at Truhealing believe in addressing the root cause of your acne and or menstrual issue without masking the symptoms with synthetic hormones. Wishing you health and happiness.
