Evening with local star to help CSUB wrestling COURTESY OF THE COYOTE CLUB oin the fourth annual “Evening with Stephen Neal” fundraiser benefitting the Cal State Bakersfield wrestling program from 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Stockdale Country Club. As another season of CSUB wrestling has come to a close, officials are already preparing for the 2013-14 season and beyond. The program no longer receives funding from the university, and is fully funded by the community. Officials need to raise at least $250,000 each year to sustain the program. This fundraiser, in addition to several other fundraisers during the year, helps meet this commitment. Accordingly, the Coyote Club invites you to participate in our “Evening with Stephen Neal” fundraiser. The CSUB Wrestling program is a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Wrestling throughout California has been a victim of widespread budget cuts in recent years. At CSUB, wrestling has been a proud tradition for more than 40 years. This year, CSUB crowned two champions at the PAC-12 Conference meet: senior Tyler Iwamura and redshirt freshmen Bryce Hammonds. The future looks bright as CSUB is in the midst of recruiting for the coming season. The fundraiser is your opportunity to be part of the future of CSUB wrestling.
