The vest, designed for fast dinghy sailing, especially for foiling sailing or skiff sailing as well as for kitesurfing is a combination of a 50N vest with impact protection and a manually activated, fully usable inflatable buoyancy chamber to give approximately 110N extra buoyancy.
It is manufactured from solid foam with a CO2 filled inflatable chamber with fabrics including neoprene, and a spacer fabric.
The vest is operated using a manually operated trigger. As soon as this is pulled, the hybrid impact vest tightly will secure to the wearer’s body to give the user the maximum freedom of movement.
Design details for extra wearer comfort include a small opening in the lower front area to allow room for a trapeze hook and a large, tough front zip to make it easy to put on.
The inflation handle is easily accessible so that the rescue collar can be triggered quickly. The back protector is built according to DIN EN 1621-2 for additional protection of the spine. There is a storage bag in the chest area for smaller items as well as a hanging loop and an adjustable body strap for a close fit.
The best is available in four sizes, small to extra large for users weighing from 60kg to 115kg.
