Our students discover a world of opportunities that puts them on a path to self-discovery, character development, and lives of leadership and service. The way MERCERSBURG delivers this transformative education has changed over the decades, even as the school’s core values have remained the same:
Hard work, Fair play, Clean life
The ANNUAL FUND ensures that Mercersburg delivers this extraordinary education every year thanks to gifts from alumni, parents, and friends. The Annual Fund provides 10 percent of the school’s operating budget not covered by endowment income or tuition. REVENUE SOURCES

Thanks to the ANNUAL FUND: • Half of the student body receives scholarship aid every year. • More than half of the students have a domestic or international travel experience by the time they graduate. • One-third of the students participate in a vocal, instrumental, or theatrical performance group. • 20 members of the Class of 2017 were recruited to play at an NCAA Division I or Division III institution. • 87 seniors were accepted to Barron’s “Most Competitive” colleges and universities last year. • 55 faculty members participated in Mercersburg’s 2017 Summer Teaching Academy.
ANNUAL FUND participation affirms Mercersburg’s mission and its culture of excellence. Your gift is part of a collective investment in our students— and in a future where they are difference-makers.

“Our individual stories over the generations make up the fabric of our great school, strengthening our present and inspiring our future. Dr. Irvine would be proud of what Mercersburg has become since setting his vision into motion 125 years ago, and it is now our responsibility to connect his founding vision with the exciting possibilities of our future.” —Head of School Katie Titus
The William Mann Irvine Society is a leadership donor group that provides essential philanthropic support to Mercersburg. Members of the William Mann Irvine Society contribute 90 percent of Annual Fund dollars every year. Their generosity ensures Mercersburg’s place as one of the top independent schools in the country.
