PROJECT UPDATE • Additional signs and bollards have now been installed to improve the safety at the existing South Range Road entrance • Design and planning is ongoing for the widening of the Pahiatua Aokautere Road where South Range Road will be realigned to • Establishment of construction site offices is ongoing through July and into August • Windfarm design process is ongoing • Once construction beings, realignment of South Range Road is a priority along with building roads within the windfarm site

PROJECT UPDATE • Transmission line, in the next eight weeks we will see • Procurement of Poles, Towers, insulators and fittings • Forming of the transmission line access tracks, and Geotech testing completed • Road condition survey and upgrade of Greens Road

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PLANS What they do: describe the methods, processes, systems and philosophies that will be adopted during construction Why: to minimise potential environmental impacts, minimise overall environmental risk and to comply with the conditions of the consents More specifically… For the wind farm (Vestas) and the transmission line (Electrix): • A Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) • Site Environmental Management Plans (SEMPs); • Construction Traffic Management Plans • Construction Noise Management Plans • Landscape Plan (Vestas only) 7 PLANNING


FURTHER DETAIL Construction Traffic Management Plans

What they do: set out the details relating to the type, extent and timing of construction traffic activity to ensure a safe and efficient road network Construction Noise Management Plans

What they do: set out procedures and methods to ensure the construction work will comply with the New Zealand Noise Standard (NZS6803) Landscape Plan

What it does: set out how the construction work will be undertaken so as to ensure cut and fill earthwork areas and permanent buildings (substation and admin office building) will be integrated with the surrounding landform 8 PLANNING


CONTRACTORS’ UPDATES • Anchor cages (steel work) for the wind turbine foundations are being manufactured, 35 containers (40 foot size) are required to transport these to site. See example photo from another Vestas project (right) • Met masts have been ordered • Orders are being placed for long lead items such as the main transformer, turbine towers, wind turbine nacelles and hubs, wind turbine blades • Large equipment starts arriving on site from late January 2020 9 GETTING THE KIT AND GETTING IT ONTO SITE

CONTRACTORS UPDATE - TRANSMISSION LINE • Transmission line design progressing with the conductor ordered in June • Pole locations and features being finalised • Transmission line poles will be ordered this month, transmission line lattice towers will be ordered in August • Survey work for access tracks ongoing • Road condition survey and upgrade design of Greens Road underway

FUTURE MEETINGS OF THE GROUP - PROPOSAL Before construction – monthly meetings - Next meeting planned for 1 August (Manawatu Golf Club) – will be confirmed by email During construction – meetings every two months with indicative project activity • 2019: October, December • 2020: February, April, June, August, October, December • 2021: February (Wind farm build complete) After construction – meetings proposed every six months, frequency to be discussed at that time Ongoing – the turiteawindfarm@mercury.co.nz email address and the 0800 number are always available to contact us
