• Project dimensions • 33 Vestas V112 3.6MW turbines • 112m rotor diameter on 69m towers • 118.8MW total capacity • 125m overall height • Vestas is head wind farm contractor • Civil and electrical balance of plant to be built by Downer • On-site substation and operations building • c.11km of access roads and internal roading • 12km 220kV transmission line from wind farm substation through Turitea Reserve to Transpower Linton substation – Electrix to build • Most major equipment to come from the East via Napier Port • 25 year maintenance contract with Vestas • Mercury retains responsibility for offtake and despatch as well as Council, community and landowner relationships

PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY LIAISON GROUP 16.

The function of the Community Liaison Group shall be to:

16.1 Discuss the performance of the Consent Holder in terms of the following matters: a.

Noise control including compliance with these consent conditions; and

b.

Construction traffic impact.

16.2 Consider the results of all ecological monitoring and research required in accordance with these consent conditions. 16.3 Make recommendations to and receive feedback from the Consent Holder, in respect of the above matters where considered necessary and appropriate. 16.4 Have input, as appropriate, via consultation with the Consent Holder with regard to the implementation of the Noise Management Plan; Construction Environmental Management Plan; and Construction Traffic Management Plan 7 PURPOSE


MEMBERSHIP OF THE COMMUNITY LIAISON GROUP Councils: Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council, Palmerston North City Council, Tararua District Council (1 rep and 1 alternate each Council) Iwi: Rangitane o Manawatu, Rangitane o Tamaki Nui a Rua (1 rep and 1 alternate each) Other groups: The Tararua Aokautere Guardians Inc, The Friends of the Turitea Reserve Inc (1 rep and 1 alternate each) Landowners: owners of private land on which turbines are to be located (1 rep and 1 alternate) Residents: of Kahuterawa and Greens Roads; and all other local residents living within 3.5km of the wind farm (representation to be discussed) Mercury: (1 rep and 1 alternate)

REPRESENTATION OF LOCAL RESIDENTS • Residents in the Kahuterawa Valley (Kahuterawa Road and feeders including Greens Road) (2 representatives, 1 alternate) • Residents in the Turitea Valley (Turitea Road and feeders, including Ngahere Park Road) (2 representatives, 1 alternate) • Residents on Pahiatua Track ( Pahiatua-Aokautere Road and feeders) (2 representatives, 1 alternate) • Residents on Makomako Road (1 representative, 1 alternate)
