Compassionate, skilled and comprehensive heart and vascular care has been a hallmark at Mercy General Hospital for decades. Renowned for advanced diagnostics, leading-edge procedures, and world class research, Mercy General consistently has one of the top two busiest cardiac surgery programs in the state, drawing patients from as far away as Southern California, Oregon and Nevada. Now, to continue this tradition of excellence, a new, world-class, patient-centered cardiovascular clinic has opened: the Lucchetti Anderson Cardiovascular Center at Mercy General Hospital.
To celebrate the new Center, physicians, donors, grateful patients, and hospital leadership recently gathered for a special blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony. Philanthropic supporters, including past patients and community members, were essential to the completion of the Center contributing more than $4 million in charitable gifts to the project. The Center allows for greater efficiencies for staff and patients, additional nurse navigators, a specialized pharmacist, and capacity to treat more people in need of cardiovascular care.

An Evening to Celebrate Friendship and Generosity
On October 9, Mercy Foundation held our annual McAuley & Legacy Societies Celebration, recognizing McAuley Society members (donors who have made lifetime gifts totaling $25,000 or more) and Legacy Society members (those who have included Mercy Foundation in their estate plans).
The evening was a warm and festive celebration, filled with friendship and gratitude for our community partners. Attending the event were our valued donors, Board members, leaders from our Sacramento Market hospitals and clinics, and local Sisters of Mercy all of whom expressed their appreciation for our donor family, who help provide health care and essential programs for those who are poor, elderly and most vulnerable in our community.
In addition to welcoming new and upgraded McAuley Society and Legacy Society members, the event featured a gratitude video with warm messages of appreciation from our local Sisters of Mercy.

Friendship and Generosity on the Green
Recently, golfers enjoyed two wonderful days on the course at local tournaments, raising money for Mercy Foundation supported ministries.
Mercy Medical Group’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament was held September 21, with proceeds benefiting the Dr. Cooper Legacy Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are awarded annually to economically disadvantaged students attending Grant High School and Cristo Rey High School Sacramento who are active in the community, are academically prepared to succeed, and who are often the first in their families to attend college.
Jahmal Miller, Chief Administrative Officer of Mercy Medical Group, describes the event as “an opportunity to invest in the future of our region.” He adds, “It’s been amazing to support these kids who have gone on
to college—to hear the stories of how the scholarships have transformed their lives, and the lives of their families.” Over the last ten years, Mercy Medical Group has proudly raised more than $300,000 and we are very grateful for their support and long standing partnership.

On October 7, Lawson Mechanical Contractors hosted its 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting
the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mercy San Juan Medical Center. Through its annual tournament, Lawson Mechanical Contractors has raised nearly $377,000 to support the NICU, and this year’s proceeds of $35,000 will help provide a point-of-care ultrasound. This advanced equipment will enable a comfortable experience for our tiny patients, while providing accurate and vital information to our caregivers quickly.
