List of 2014 Kenya Development Projects Kenya has over the years embraced the idea of having in place several development projects that ensure an improvement in the living standards. Locals have also embraced this idea and are always willing to help whenever they can to ensure better living. In the past years, Kenya development projects have received funding both locally and internationally. 2014 has not

been an exception. There however have been quite a number of projects that took place in Kenya in 2014 and they include:

Infrastructure

There has been an improvement infrastructure in the country. Kenya development project planners ensured that several projects are in place to improve the infrastructure in the country. Schools and hospitals have been built, roads are have also been built and many are still being built and renovated.

Water and Energy

Another of the many Kenya development projects are being geared towards the improvement of the supply of water and energy across the country. People living in the rural and slum areas where water and energy sounds like a luxury have been the beneficiaries of these projects. Boreholes have been drilled and water tanks put in place to harvest rain water. They have also enjoyed access to energy, not necessarily electricity, but there has been a supply of solar panels at subsidized rates to ensure everyone has energy. Projects like Adopt-A-light also ensured that slums have huge lights on its streets to improve visibility at night, thereby curbing high cases of robbery that happened after dark.

Human Development

Human development also tops the list of projects that have taken place in Kenya in 2014. Women, girls and youth have been empowered. People living in rural and slum areas have been shown how to better their lives by using the available resources to create wares that can be sold. Groups have been formed and taught how to make handiworks like jewelry, woodwork, pottery and many other projects.

Food Security

There have been projects geared towards food security in the country. Green house and irrigation projects have been introduced in areas with limited or no rainfall at all to ensure that food can still be grown all year round despite the abundance of rainfall or lack of it.

Sustainable environment projects

Creating a sustainable environment has also been in the list of priorities of Kenya development projects. This has been done through seminars that empower people on the advantages of taking care of our environment. The rule of ‘cut one plant two’ was proposed to ensure that our forests and the wildlife that use these forests as habitat do not face extinction. In a bid to keep the environment clean, the cities and towns across Kenya have dustbins in strategic points to ensure that mess is not thrown aimlessly around town, and to execute this, there are council askaris everywhere and whoever found littering will be fined.
