Reinventing the Courthouse

Threshold and Transition in the American Courthouse By lifting the courthouse off the ground and creating a porous edge to the city the building becomes a civic and social gathering hub for the community. The plaza is part of the ground floor of the city encouraging movement through the courthouse realm and exposure to the justice system.

porous boundaries

Public programs and courthouse programs intersect to allow connectivity between the general public and legal communities.

Participating bodies | Self - Innovating Code Performing Arts School _ Lincoln Center, NY All group behavior effects the means in which people interact with one another, how they perceive their surroundings, and what the educational outcome of their interaction may be. Through a manipulation of surfaces and spatial relationships the new Performing Arts School at Lincoln Center creates spaces for unique collaborative behaviors to occur. Collaborative Behavior _ Educational Objectives: All students are operating together to create a stronger learning environment. Information is easily transmitted within the collective. Awareness and exposure allows students to learn from adjacent activities. Tangible interfaces and a series of projections provide students with the opportunity to learn remotely and experience activities outside of their immediate environment.
