ON TRACK FOR GREATNESS Merrimack’s elite track facility heralds a new chapter in the school’s history. Not only will it enable our student-athletes to compete at the highest level, it will also support the College’s goal to become a Division I school within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The track officially opened in October 2017, during Homecoming Weekend, before a record crowd of more than 7,000 students, alumni and friends. This 400-meter, eight-lane, cushioned track is one of the newest additions to the College’s state-of-the-art Athletic District and includes a multipurpose field and room for 4,000 Warrior fans. Additional features of the track include: • LED multi-level Musco lighting system • Elevated viewing pavilion • Three press boxes • Dual straight-aways • Dual long jump and triple jump runways/pits • Full steeplechase course
COMPETING FOR GOOD Cultivating teamwork, respect and collaboration through athletics is among Merrimack’s core values. This elite facility will serve as a training and competition venue for approximately 120 varsity men and women track athletes and the College’s club running team. Merrimack views competition as a powerful means of forging connections and opportunities. This new track will serve the broader Merrimack Valley by hosting major high school sporting events, tournaments and youth activities.
