2022 Nicola Valley Fall Fair Entries Catalogue Section D - Canning (continued) 2022 Bernardin Canning Competition

To qualify for Bernardin prizes, all winning competition entries - home canned foods - must have been submitted in mason jars with properly sealed two-piece metal SNAP lids. (Regular gold BERNARDIN SNAP Lids and colourful Bernardin Collection Elite SNAP Lids are equally acceptable for competition. Unsealed jars, items with lug caps or wax seals are unacceptable. Mason jars are specifically designed for home canning. See canning convener for information on complete contest terms & conditions. First place winner must sign a release form giving the sponsor (Bernadin) permission to use without payment the winner name and photo in any other advertising or publicity.

Fair’s “Best Home Canning” entry submitted in a Bernardin mason jar and SNAP Lid® as selected by the Fair: Proof of purchase rquired for lids, pkg or upc for pectin. Judging may be based on highest accumulated points (Fair decides point system) or judges’ choice of Best Home Canning Entry from among qualifiers.

#157 - Bernardin Jam/Jelly Award

Best Jam/Jelly using Bernardin pectin as selected by the Fair. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture and recipe creativity.

Winning entry must include proof of purchase of sponsor’s product purchase.

Best Gift Pack submitted in a Bernardin mason jar and SNAP Lid® as selected by the Fair. Judges select winner based on creativity, quality of home canned product, perceived value & appropriateness of presentation.
