RAIN CAUSES GOLF COURSE TO FLOOD
Rain squalls in the mountains surrounding the Nicola Valley resulted in flash flooding in several areas. Washed out culverts and bridges hampered logging activities, and the most recent report was received from Quilchena Golf Course, where four fairways went underwater Monday afternoon.
However, since the highway is higher than the golf course and, along with the bridge, there are several culverts taking the water into Nicola Lake, there is little other damage.

N’Kwala School
“The Intermediate class at N’Kwala School created this piece to honour the 215 children, that were discovered in a mass grave at Kamloops Residential School. We started with 215 orange hand prints... we were influenced by the red handprints that acknowledge the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (#MMIWG). We chose a sacred medicine wheel to symbolize healing in all four directions. We took an existing quote and rewrote it to convey our message. ‘They tried to bury us; they didn’t know we were seeds that would awaken the world.’ We all had family who attended Kamloops Indian Residential School.”
