The Sefton Suite also enjoys a prime location within its own restful private wing at the University Hospital Aintree. Inside, each room is furnished to
the highest standard and features en suite facilities, together with a satellite colour TV, radio and a bedside telephone. For added peace of mind, each patient is equipped with their own nurse-call system so that they can keep in immediate contact with staff 24-hours a day. Orthopaedics THE orthopaedic centre is one of the largest departments within Abbey Sefton Hospital, and offers a comprehensive range of orthopaedic care. Ranging from out-patient appointments and diagnostic services, right through to surgery, the hospital's 100-strong team of specialist consultants, medical and nursing staff covers all aspects of orthopaedic treatment and surgical procedures. Each patient's journey at the orthopaedic centre starts with a one-to-one consultation at the Diagnostic Centre, One Kenilworth Road in Crosby, and here patients will see a relevant specialist to discuss their needs. Thorough diagnostic tests, such as MRI or CT scans may be required to assess your condition and should your specialist feel that surgery is required, this will then be arranged at the Sefton Suite. Some of the procedures available at the orthopaedic centre, include: total hip replacement and resurfacing; total knee replacements; ACL reconstruction (stabilisation of the knee); minimally invasive hip replacement; foot and ankle surgery; arthroscopy; early arthritis of the knee; torn cartilage; shoulder surgery; hand surgery; dupuytren's contracture; tennis elbow; spinal surgery; carpal tunnel syndrome and joint fusions.
