Yield: 8 slices Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 25 minutes 8 slices hickory smoked bacon 4 tablespoons Maguey Sap Heat oven to 400°F. Prep time: 12 minutes Total time: 50 minutes Servings: 10-12 truffles Truffles: 1/2 cup plain rolled oats 1/4 cup ground flaxseed meal 1 scoop Bowflex Body French Vanilla shake powder 1 packet Bowflex Body Rich Chocolate Fat Burner+ shake boost 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut 2 tablespoons honey 1/4 cup all-natural chunky peanut butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 cup cold water 1 teaspoon cinnamon Dash of salt Coating:

How long have you been in the real estate business? Yvette: “I’ve been a realtor since 1989, so it’s been 27 years.” What do you most enjoy about the Real Estate business? Yvette: “We’ve been in the business so long. We enjoy helping people find their home, both in sales and in rentals. We specialize in residential property management, so we also find a lot of homes for tenants.” How long have you lived in El Paso? Yvette: “I was born in El Paso. I was born here but we left when I was 6. We came back when I was 17. We were gone almost 10 years — I lived in Houston and San Antonio. I’ve always been a Texan. And then we moved back to El Paso, and we’ve been here ever since. My husband is military and I did leave with him for two years. We were stationed in Louisiana and Germany, and then we came back. My husband was born in Columbia in South America. His family moved to Puerto Rico and then he joined the military when he was 17.” Fernando: “I’ve been in El Paso since 1997.” Do you have any awards or titles? Yvette: “No. Our company is a small company. We used to be with Century 21, so with Century 21 they used to give awards, but we’re a smaller company.” Fernando: “I’m the broker of the company. I’ve been the broker of the company for over 10 years. I’m an instructor for the Academy of Real Estate. I’m an instructor for the board of realtors. I’m an instructor for the Texas Real Estate Commission, where I teach ethics, contracts and Texas law.”

Which neighborhoods or types of buyers/sellers do you specialize in? Yvette: “We don’t really focus on any one area. We specialize in residential property management, so we’re all over El Paso. We don’t specialize in any specific areas. We’ll rent or sell in any part of El Paso.” Are you married? Do you have children? Please tell me about your family. Yvette: “We’ve been married 23 years. It will be 24 in December. We have five children. We have a yours-mine-and-ours family. We have four grandchildren. We’re a family-owned business. We have been from the beginning. My parents work with us, and my niece does as well. The company was originally founded by my fatherin-law in 1977. My father-in-law took it over then and I came on with him in 1989. Now my daughter works here with us, so we’re three generations working together. We manage more than 700 properties.”

Did you pursue a different career before real estate? What was it and how does it add to your abilities as a REALTOR? Yvette: “My husband is retired military. We have a big military clientele — probably 60 percent of our clients are military, between owners and tenants. We are a military family. My father-inlaw was retired sergeant major. My husband was a retired sergeant first class. I’ve been a military wife. So we understand the needs of the military.” Who has been a large influencer for you in your real estate career? Yvette: “That was my father-in-law, James Henderson. He’d been in real estate since the ‘70s. He was my rock. He taught me the business. He just recently passed away a couple years ago, but when he was alive we would pick him up every day and bring him to the office. He was 86 years old when he died, but he was still coming to the office up until his last year. He was our mentor. Anyone who’s been in real estate in town a long time knows my father-inlaw, James Henderson.” If you could put one word on a billboard for all to see, what would that word be? Yvette: “Commitment.”

I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful family. We are all very close. We love to go to the movies and travel as a family. My husband and I are involved in their education and, currently, we are a part of the organization with the Coronado Orchestra.

Are you involved in any charities or community organizations? I am currently involved in the El Paso Chorale Society and a member of the guild. Last year, I was involved in the El Paso Rotary Club.

How did that add to your abilities as a REALTOR®? I’m bilingual. I’m able to communicate and translate to clients from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. If you could put on one word on a billboard for all to see, what would it be? Faith! We all need faith in our hearts.

I was a Center Against Family Violence honoree for community service in 2010. I also received El Paso Inc.'s Women of Impact 2010 award, Links' Star Award for 2011, and El Paso Children’s Hospital 2012 Milagro Gala Heart Full of Miracle Award.

Are you involved in any charities or community organizations? I had served on the El Paso Chamber of Commerce Board as well as the Boards of the Center Against Family Violence, YWCA, the Holocaust Museum, CIMA Hospice Advisory Committee, and the YWCA Transitional Living Center Advisory Committee.

I have served as past Chairman of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees, past Chairman of UMC Foundation Board, past Chairman of the Center Against Family Violence Board & past President for the El Paso County Medical Society Alliance.
