Exhibiting becomes a product experience. The INTERBOOT 2015 finished with an increase of visitor numbers by 5%: 90,700 people (2014: 86,200) visited the exhibition halls and the exhibition lake. Aboard were 475 exhibitors from 18 nations. “The 54th edition of this exhibition has been a full success. At least 5 percent more visitors than last year, among them clearly more Swiss people, went for the INTERBOOT and have experienced the adventure water sports in the last nine days.” Klaus Wellmann, CEO of the Messe Friedrichshafen, draws a positive conclusion. For another 53,000 counted water-sports enthusiasts the INTERBOOT Harbour with more than 130 boats was a popular place to go. Additionally, ten thousands of people at the Friedrichshafen water front were interested in the sports and show events on Lake Constance.

Why do so many Swiss people visit the INTERBOOT? On the one hand, the high number of visitors from Switzerland shows their interest in water sports. Switzerland has the highest density of boats in Europe, based on the number of inhabitants. On the other hand, INTERBOOT cooperates closely with the Swiss Boat-Builders’ Association. The result of this cooperation is the SUISSE@INTERBOOT, an exclusive exhibition area for Swiss exhibitors.

high purchasing power The INTERBOOT owes its outstanding visitor numbers to its comprehensive, year-round marketing activities in the Lake Constance region, encompassing four countries. Southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein belong to the catchment area of the fair. Those four countries form a common German-speaking economic region with a high purchasing power. Impulse buying at the fair can be hoped for, just like bigger investments in the personal passion for water sports.
Are the visitors to the fair in the mood for shopping? The people in the Lake Constance region can afford something. The purchasing power per inhabitant in the catchment area is above average.

Have you tried it out? With a test voyage starting in the INTERBOOT harbour, you give your customers the opportunity to experience products and water sports in an authentic way. During the exhibition time, 130 berths are provided for our exhibitors. In the year 2015, the harbour master registered about 1,500 customer voyages.
“We were able to make many contacts and arrange for ten test voyages in the harbour. We expect a very good follow-up business after the fair. Lake Constance:
Space for authentic water-sports experience We want to make the fascination of water sports public, beyond the exhibition grounds. Beside the INTERBOOT Harbor with its various test facilities and the organization of spectacular sports events, we are present at the water front in Friedrichshafen attracting the audience’s and media’s attention. On Lake Constance and during the INTERBOOT, water sports are practiced in public, covered by the media. One example is the INTERBOOT Media Cup, a sailing regatta with media representatives from Germany, Austria and Switzerland competing against each other. The adrenalin level of the participants and the thrilled visitors at the water front alike is rising during the Liquid Quarter Mile. The motorboat race in the INTERBOOT Harbour can be counted among the highlights of the fair events. Top-class regatta sport is presented, directly at the Friedrichshafen water front, with the internationally announced INTERBOOT Trophy. 15
