Choosing the Right Tires
By: Dave Shaw, Mount Joy Parts
When searching for tires, it’s essential to consider three key factors: durability, traction, and clean out. Once you determine which factor matters most for your specific needs, choosing the right tire becomes straightforward.
Durability: If you’re dealing with projects where the risk of flat tires is high, durability becomes a critical feature. Construction and demolition sites often use airless tires like Beefy Baby SDS and Hulk SDS. Although they come
at a higher cost, they are a valuable investment. These solid tires serve as both the tire and rim, eliminating the worry of flat tires. They have a longer lifespan and reduce the need for frequent replacements.
Traction: When traction is a priority, opt for tires with deep treads, such as Hulk and XD2010. These tires grip the ground, preventing your machine from slipping and ensuring both your safety and job efficiency.
Clean Out: In areas with significant mud, clean out is crucial. Tires like Muddy Buddy and Beefy Baby are designed to prevent mud and debris from packing into the tread. This feature ensures continuous traction during your work and minimizes sliding, even in muddy conditions.
