CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Essential risks
The Alumeco Group keeps a continuous focus on our surroundings, the climate and the environment. Therefore, we prioritise correct handling of scrap and reduction of energy consumption to prevent unnecessary negative impact on the climate and environment.
Policy
The Alumeco Group establishes and optimises processes and procedures with regards to energy consumption, waste management, scrapping and chemical management as well as prevention of pollution. Where relevant, waste is sorted to ensure correct recycling and to minimise the impact on the environment. Both aluminium and copper are recyclable an indefinite number of times, and, therefore, metal residuals, turnings and scrap are handled with recycling in mind. To support circular economy we place climate and environmental demands on sub suppliers, suppliers and other business partners through our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Change to more energy-friendly lighting to achieve a lower energy consumption for production activities. The increase in energy consumption in China and Poland in 2019 is due to an increase in production activities.
Future improvements
To ensure correct collection of waste oil and thereby minimise the risk of undesirable pollution of the ground water, we plan to place containers and draw up instructions for work implying risk of oil spill. The Alumeco Group is preparing certification according to ISO 14001 for further Group companies. We are working on continuous improvement of the waste sorting in the office areas and are examining the possibilities for heating the warehouse buildings with a less detrimental
impact on the environment.
