ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

Metal Coat Tile and Signs is proud to have created it’s own proprietary formula for metalcoating applications. When compared with the environmental issues associated with foundries and plating facilities, our proprietary metalcoating process significantly reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), disposable liquid waste, consumption of energy and consumption of natural resources. Metal Coat Tile and Signs uses recycled metals whenever possible.

Metal Coat Tile and Signs a new proprietary casting substrate that does not emit VOC’s into the atmosphere. Additionally this innovation allows Metal Coat Tile and Signs to drastically reduce the energy requirements associated with the facility’s ventilation equipment.

Metal Coat Tile and Signs, production facility is located in the state of California that has some of the strictest emission control standards in the world. In order to adhere to these requirements, Metal Coat Tile and Signs is dedicated to utilizing environmentally friendly practices and materials throughout the facility. Metal Coat Tile and Signs uses energy-efficient equipment and lighting, packaging made from recycled content, eliminates waste and recycles trash whenever possible.

All manufacturing is done exclusively in the United States creating American jobs and eliminating the wasteful energy consumption associated with overseas transportation of imported products.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE Metal Coat Tile and Signs, uses a proprietary blend of composite metal and binder that is cold-sprayed onto virtually any substrate to create the look and feel of solid cast metal. The metalcoating has a living finish and will age naturally over time. The metal is applied as part of a proprietary seven-step process. At an average 7 to 10mil thickness (plating is less than 1-milz thick) our metalcoating adds less than four ounces of weight per square foot, provides the durability of solid cast metal, and is noncorrosive and nonconductive of electricity. Our metalcoating has a Class 1-Class A fire rating.

Metal Coat Tile and Signs uses a proprietary blend of polyester for our substrate and once metalcoated may be used for interior and exterior applications, and will withstand freeze/thaw conditions. All products can be easily cut or mitered using a wet or dry saw and the metal will not chip, flake or peel. Field tile or tile with low relief may also be used for floor application. Tile may be used in a shower or pool area, as a backsplash, on a range hood and around a cook top or fireplace (see installation instructions regarding heat source). MCTS Mosaics are available in all metals & finishes (refer to page 7) with seven stone choices (below). Mosaics shown in the catalog can be customized to meet your specified design requirements. The following modifications can be made without any additional charge: • Combine multiple metals & finishes • Remove or exchange metal pieces (tile or onlays of similar size) • Mix stone choices for border and field • Change stone cuts on some designs To ensure your selection is accurate and precise, you are required to fill out the corresponding Stone Placement Form, including any of the modifications listed above. Stone Placement Forms can be found in the Mosaic Line Drawing Workbook or contact the MCTS Marketing Department (info@metalcoattileandsigns. com) for emailable forms. Please be advised that all natural stones are subject to slight variations and any one sample cannot represent all pieces. Stone is available tumbled only. Customer supplied stone must be 5/8” only, be removed from mesh and cleaned or a 25% upcharge will be applied.

Any size change qualifies as a custom mosaic. Submit your custom mosaic sketch or line drawing for a quote. We are happy to assist in the design of your custom masterpiece and our initial design efforts are included in the quoted price without a deposit. However, more extensive design work or modifications may require a purchase order commitment.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS MCTS is real metal and is considered to be a living finish. As the metal ages, it will take on its own natural look. To avoid damaging the finish and to protect it’s natural beauty, please follow the Care Instructions closely.

FOR HIGH POLISH AND HIGHLIGHT POLISH

These finishes have no protective coating and will oxidize and age naturally. • Never use harsh cleaners (such as Lysol®, Pine Sol® or Bleach) or soft scrub cleaners. Harsh chemicals may damage the finish. • To avoid water spots, dry all surfaces after each use. Stain-Proof™ Original by Dry Treat (drytreat. com) may be applied to protect high polish tile from spots and fingerprints. • Water spots and unwanted patina may be removed by applying a small amount of non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner with a soft cloth or gently with extra fine steel wool. Then buff with a soft cloth. • If you wish to polish tarnished high polish tile, use a product such as Cape Cod® Metal Polishing Cloth or a non-chalking metal polish. • There is no maintenance required for tile installed below the water line.

FOR ANTIQUE, OIL RUB, VERDI, RUST AND WROUGHT FINISHES These finishes have been oiled to enhance and seal the finish.

• Never use harsh cleaners (such as Lysol®, Pine Sol® or Bleach) or soft scrub cleaners. Harsh chemicals may damage the finish. • Stain-Proof™ Original by Dry Treat may be applied first and then mineral oil or oil based polish or cleaner may be used to maintain an oil rubbed appearance and minimize spotting. To remove unwanted green (due to moisture) from antique and oil rubbed finishes use a small amount of non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner with a soft cloth. • Extra fine steel wool along with a small amount of non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner may be used to remove excess verdi, rust and wrought finishes or to lighten antique and oil rubbed finishes. Gently rub tile until finish is achieved, then buff with a soft cloth. • There is no maintenance required for tile installed below the water line.

FOR CLEARCOATED FINISHES

These finishes have a protective coating and will protect the finish from water spots and the natural effects of aging. • All sinks (except rust) have a protective coating. This coating helps to protect the finish from water spots and the natural effects of aging. • Never use harsh cleaners (such as Lysol®, Pine Sol® or Bleach) or soft scrub cleaners. Harsh chemicals may damage the clearcoat. • To avoid water spots, dry all surfaces with a soft cloth. For added protection use Stain-Proof™ Original by Dry Treat as a barrier between clearcoat and moisture.

INSTALLATION

Due to the natural variations in any handmade product, all dimensions given are approximate. Installation should not begin until all products are on site. A certain amount of variation in color, shade, tone and size is to be expected. Such variations only enhance the natural beauty, character and uniqueness of the tile. New tile (especially high polish, verdi and rust finishes) may not look exactly like the tile on concept boards that have been grouted, cleaned, polished, sealed and had time to age. Please refer to Care Instructions for proper maintenance. A copy of the Installation and Care Instructions along with a specification sheet (packing slip with product photo, item number and size) is included with all orders.

TILE

All tile may be used for wall application. Low relief and field tile is recommended for floor applications. Tile with high relief may not be suitable for floor applications in traffic areas. Tile may be used in a shower or pool area, in a bathroom or kitchen backsplash and on a range hood. All tile can be easily cut or mitered using a wet or dry saw. The metal will not chip, flake or peel from any cutting or drilling. Warning: High relief tile, liners, chair rails and bases installed above a cooktop, outdoor kitchen or fireplace must be set 5 to 6 inches above and 3 to 4 inches back from heat source and have a minimum 2-inch set back from the profile (face of the tile). Failure to do so may result in damage and will void the warranty. Heat source includes oven vents and fireplace blowers. Note: Installed tile must use a high-grade urethane compatible indoor/outdoor thin-set mortar such as Custom EBMLite™ Epoxy Bonding Mortar. If not using mortar, construction adhesive may be used, see onlay instructions below.

Tile cut or mitered using a wet saw should be wiped dry with a soft cloth to prevent spotting. Use non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner sparingly with extra fine steel wool to remove water spots and unwanted green patina. Sanded and unsanded grout may be used. Mask off tile to eliminate grout on all relief pieces and avoid scratching the finish. Using a small brush and water only, remove excess grout from tile before it dries. Towel dry to avoid water spots. All grout must be removed from the surface before it dries to eliminate damaging the finish. Non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner may be applied lightly before grouting as a grout release and to remove grout haze on all surfaces after grout dries. Note: If using epoxy grout, all tile must be masked off. Using a solvent to clean residual epoxy grout can damage the finish.

Stain-Proof™ Original by Dry Treat (drytreat.com) is recommended to seal entire area. Stone enhancers, sealers and cleaners may be used and will not prevent metal from aging. Polishing paste and abrasive polishing products are not recommended. ONLAYS

Onlays and most tile may be mounted over an existing substrate. Adhere to stone, glass and ceramic using a quick set epoxy and seal around edges with a clear bead of silicone. Pieces may also be adhered to metal or wood and can be used for exterior application or around a heat source (see warning) using the appropriate adhesive or wood bond such as SikaBond® Construction Adhesive. Warning: Onlays installed above a cooktop, outdoor kitchen or fireplace must be set 5 to 6 inches above and 3 to 4 inches back from heat source and have a minimum 2-inch set back from the profile (face of the tile). Failure to do so may result in damage and will void the warranty. Heat source includes oven vents and fireplace blowers. Note: If using an adhesive allow to off-gas (5-7 days) first, then run a clear bead of silicone around outside edges to keep moisture out. Failure to do so may cause piece to delaminate from substrate.

KORBELS

Korbels come with a slot in the back for ease of hanging or can be drilled for alternative mounting methods.

PLAQUES

Plaques and Plaque Onlays must be kept flat until installation. If warping does occur, lay the piece on a flat warm surface (in the sun) and it will flatten. An attempt to flatten a cold piece could cause damage. Plaques can be used behind a cook top (see warning) or as an inset in showers and cabinets. For plaques, use a product such as SikaBond® Construction Adhesive along with a quick set epoxy on the corners to hold until the adhesive sets. Plaque and surrounding area may be sealed with Stain-Proof™ Original by Dry Treat (drytreat.com). Warning: Plaques installed above a cook top, outdoor kitchen or fireplace must be set 5 to 6 inches above and 3 to 4 inches back from heat source and have a minimum 2 inch set back from the profile (face of the tile). Failure to do so may result in damage and will void the warranty. Heat source includes oven vents and fireplace blowers. Note: If using an adhesive allow to off-gas (5-7 days) first, then run a clear bead of silicone around outside edges to keep moisture out. Failure to do so may cause piece to delaminate from substrate.

MOSAICS

Please follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for all products used. We also recommend that an experienced mosaic installer perform the mosaic installation. Warning: Mosaics installed above a cooktop, outdoor kitchen or fireplace must be set 5 to 6 inches above and 3 to 4 inches back from heat source and have a minimum 2-inch set back from the profile (face of the tile). Failure to do so may result in damage and will void the warranty. Heat source includes oven vents and fireplace blowers. Mosaics should be kept flat in an enclosed box in a cool dry place until installation begins. Never expose meshbacked mosaics to moisture or temperatures above 95 degrees. To move or transport a mosaic, leave plastic sheet on back and carefully place on a piece of plywood or other solid surface. Always remove plastic sheet before installation. The following information is provided as installation guidance, not as specific instructions. Mosaic medallions up to 48” are usually shipped as one piece. Larger medallions may be shipped in multiple pieces. Mosaic decos, connectors and liners should only be picked up one piece at a time. Pick mosaics up with two hands at top or sides placing hands near corners or at corners of one side of the piece. In some cases, this operation may require two or more people. Lift mosaic straight up and place the opposite end of the mosaic in the mortar first. Always take care to align piece in exact location so as not to require adjustment later. Then proceed with mosaic stone installation techniques. All mesh-backed products must be grouted. Failure to do so will result in degradation of the setting material and/or pieces lifting or falling out. Mesh-backed mosaics depend on the application of grout for their strength and resistance to the elements. Wipe off all excess grout and do not allow grout to dry on the mosaic surface. Non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner may be applied before grouting as a grout release and to remove grout haze on all surfaces after grout dries. See grout manufacturer’s specifications for proper grout. If your customer has chosen a specific metal & finish from a showroom sample, please send sample so we can match when finishing the order. Every attempt is made to match finishes as closely as possible. All dimensions provided are approximate. Please examine each item for defects immediately after delivery. Any discrepancies in metal, finish, size, design or quality must be noted in writing to MCTS within five business days following receipt of material and prior to installation, otherwise buyer waives all rights to such claim. All claims regarding damage or short shipments must be made in writing to the carrier and MCTS within five business days of delivery. We make no guarantees as to suitability of our products. Metal Coat Tile and Signs reserves the right to modify designs and materials or to discontinue products without prior notice. All designs remain the property of MCTS and may not be duplicated.

REVISIONS OR CANCELLATIONS

Revisions must be received within 24 hours after receipt of your signed Order Confirmation, otherwise a fee may apply. All orders are made to your exact specifications (metal and finish). Please check every item very carefully to ensure accuracy before signing your Order Confirmation. Once we receive your Order Confirmation, the order cannot be cancelled. The order is final & binding.

PACKING & HANDLING FEES

A 4% to 6% fee will be charged on orders depending on the type of packaging required. To ensure that all products are received in perfect condition, each piece is individually wrapped and packed according to style and includes a specification sheet with Installation and Care Instructions. This fee will be included on your Order Confirmation.

SHIPPING

Regular tile orders ship within 2-3 weeks. Quick Ship tile orders ship within 3-5 business days from the date a signed Order Confirmation is received (during hours of operation). Plaque and Korbel orders ship within 3-4 weeks. Mosaic orders ship within 3-4 weeks. Sink orders ship within 4-6 weeks. All products will be shipped F.O.B. Temecula, California. RETURNS

Returns are accepted on a case-by-case basis and require an authorization form. No returns are accepted on installed products. No returns are accepted after 10 days following the receipt of materials. All accepted returns are subject to a 25% return fee. Incorrect orders placed by showrooms, client remorse or variations in size, color and finish shall NOT be deemed as cause for return.

WARRANTY INFORMATION PRODUCT WARRANTY MCTS (Metal Coat Tile and Signs) offers a lifetime guarantee that the metalcoating will not delaminate from the substrate. When installed and maintained properly the metalcoating will not chip, flake or peel under normal usage. Certain foods and acids may cause changes in the finish. Our metalcoating has the same aging qualities as real metal and needs to be cared for as such. Please refer to our Installation and Care Instructions included with every order. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS 1. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, abuse or accident during and/or after installation. 2. Failure resulting from not adhering to MCTSâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; specific instructions regarding heat sources. DAMAGES AND CLAIMS

1. All claims for damages, apparent or concealed, should be made in writing to MCTS within five (5) days after receipt of merchandise. 2. Failure to do so within the five (5) day period shall constitute acceptance of the merchandise and waiver all future claims. 3. MCTS will, at its own discretion, replace or repair damaged or defective merchandise within a reasonable time period. 4. It is understood that all claims for damages or loss of material in transit shall be filed by the buyer directly with the carrier and NOT with MCTS. 5. If packages are received in damaged condition, please note this on the carriers receipt. Be sure to save all damaged cartons and packing materials for presentation to carrier when filing claims. 6. MCTS is not liable for any collateral damages caused by failure of products supplied. 7. All claims for labor, shipping cost, incidental or consequential damages will not be accepted.
