or billions of years now, extraterrestrial life forms have been ripping through the galaxy on technologically-advanced spacecraft, ploughing deep turns through the Milky Way, jibbing the Rings of Saturn and carving out gigantic craters on Mars. These supernatural pioneers did it all with a style transcending space and time. It is only within the last century that Earthlings have come to harness the immense power of these hovercrafts by battling forces of gravity and the power of the Sun. But with each journey around that great ball of fire we gain a deeper understanding of these vehicles, and the purveyors who shape them. Built upon our latest research, we present to you our conglomeration of “Identified Flying Objects”: Method Mag’s ’18/’19 Intergalactic Guide on what to ride. - Thomas Shapiro

S.P.A.M. II

What are the key features of this spacecraft? It comes down to this: The SPAM 1 was just a prototype rocket ship for the wormhole smashing tool you see before you. We never wanted to just slice the powder; we wanted to thoroughly thrash and destroy it with artful and stylish strokes, preferably with an unidentified flying object both sharp and blunt. After 22 lightyears of continuous testing of SPAM I by scientists both goofy and regular in all imaginable types of gravity and atmospheres, including but not limited to, hot powder, blower pow, cherry-cherry pow-pow, creamy windpack soft-serve - and even through one barely successful encounter with the rare and deadly chunky nuggets of re-frozen chunder balls with a light dusting of cold pow - we went deeper and traveled further into the realm of the unknown universe. We accelerated down the rabbit hole of powder rocket blast-i-ness… Where were we? We arrived here. SPAM II - experience it before it experiences you. Just kidding about that. Airblaster x Gnu = truth. Anywhere. Anytime. All the time. Best planet to rip this board on? It is called SuperProgressiveAirMachine for a reason. Take it where it belongs. Rip through pow and blast it over the moon. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? Well, this one is clearly a job for the guys traveling through space and time in parallel universes. Gnubians and Airbladers in one ship. United. Yet apart. What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? That tail is gonna swallow so much snow, you’ll be higher than the moon. * LENGTHS: 157, 151 women’s SHAPE: G2 directional construction CAMBER/ROCKER/ALTERNATIVE: C3 Camber/Rocker aggression technology

All the while, the Railkiller Edges (edges that are 2x thicker and stronger than standard edges) and the Ballistic Impact Panels (sheets of Kevlar underneath the binding insert packs helping to prevent binding line breakage) will provide the endless durability you desire. Best planet to rip this board on? When four of the best park riders in the world - Kleveland, Bergrem, Thorgren, and Ettala - come together to build the perfect progression stick, you know the board was built for the park. Any park, from mini to X Games size! Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The Beast x Volcom Board was inspired by the original BEAST board model. Since Volcom and Nitro have a long history of friendship we decided it would be a rad idea to unite and push this amazing park board on both of our platforms to help bring some attention back into the freestyle snowboard world. Freestyle boards are back! What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? You can literally send this to the moon. Just look at how far, hard, long, and many times Marcus Kleveland and Torgeir Bergrem have sent this thing‌ * LENGTHS: 151, 155, 158 SHAPE: Twin Camber/Rocker/Alternative: True Camber (standard)

NITRO SQAUSH What are the key features of this spacecraft? The Squash has TrĂźe Camber and a tapered swallowtail shape, but the tail is kicked up before the split allowing for easy switch carving. It has our Sintered Speed Formula HD base and is available for women as well in size 152cm and 148cm where the waist width is slimmer for a smaller foot. The flex rating is on the stiffer end allowing you to really power out of turns on groomers and stomp huge cliffs off the marked trail. Best planet to rip this board on? The Squash is the most versatile swallowtail board on the market. The lifted split tail allows you to rip the groomers and dip into the park, and obviously, float through the deepest of pow with ease! Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The Squash is the brainchild of Nitro Co-Founder and current board designer Thomas Delago and Quiver masterminds Bryan Fox and Austin Smith. The squash was originally introduced in the Quiver series last season, but now is available in additional sizes (see below). What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? If you like carving groomers early in the morning, floating like a boat and looking like B-Fox on your heelside turns then this is the board for you. The Squash will squash any terrain you put in front of it with style and power.

WARPIG

What are the key features of this spacecraft? The Warpig serves up ample amounts of fun with its proven Tapered Directional Rocker shape that is shorter, wider, and more maneuverable for a board that performs in the park and will still float like a board twice its size. Our SlimewallsÂŽ serve to protect your investment with the durability of urethane by absorbing impact damage to your edges, as well as reducing vibration that makes boards chatter at high speeds. Best planet to rip this board on? The Warpig will definitely be the best board to rip the mountains of Mars from top to bottom. You will have fun in the deepest Martian craters or in the stony and dusty Martian terrain park. Be sure to spray some ski aliens in the space lift lines. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? We flew in the senior graphic designer form the space-pig planet to do this extraordinary piggly design. Awesome! What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? Even if you are running out of oxygen, the Warpig will ensure you will still have a smile on your face when you are hitting the last space kicker in the star park. * LENGTHS: XS, S, M, L, XL SHAPE: Tapered directional rocker Camber/Rocker/Alternative: Rocker

NATIONAL

What are the key features of this spacecraft? The National is for riders who want a one board quiver. Built on our Fusion camber to give you the power and predictability of positive camber with the forgiveness of small pockets of rocker just outside the contact points. Best planet to rip this board on? Versatile enough to explore the outer limits of the galaxy, snappy enough to ollie over house-sized meteors and stable enough to hold an edge through the iciest corners of the Milky Way. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The National was designed to look like a futuristic deep space explorer. Slick, modern and beautiful in its simplicity, the National looks as good as it rides. What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? RAVINE

What are the key features of this spacecraft? The Ravine is all about versatility; a softer flex pattern, deep sidecut and a big 3D rocker nose all blend together to create one helluva playful, yet reliable all-mountain marauder. Best planet to rip this board on? From the deepest powder fields on the darkest shadow planet, to the crustiest crusts on Planet ‘Two Days After the Last Storm,” all the way to the groomed surfaces of Planet Corduroy, the Ravine is built to hoss. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The Ravine is part of our new Tramline Series, a collection of boards united visually and through the shared love of deep days and beautiful turns. Crafted to look equally good on your wall or smashing the lip of towering white wall, the Ravine is one sexy beast. What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? If you’re looking for a board that froths for deep days, but handles business on variable terrain, if you’re looking for an alternative to the ‘stiff means all-mountain’ mindset that pervades the industry, if you want to spice up your quiver and spread buttery, press-happy fun through every contour of the mountain, then you need to drop-in on a Ravine.

ASSASSIN

What are the key features of this spacecraft? We combined our most versatile powder and freestyle constructions to create an even more deadly quiver killer. The new Assassin features our Quadralizer sidecut for enhanced freestyle precision on the groomers and a directional twin shape with a floaty nose for stomping landings and ripping through deep pow. Best planet to rip this board on? The Assassin is a true “do-it-all” board which works well on everything from park laps to steep lines on planet Hoth. This board will rip on any planet in the galaxy with ease. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? We don’t know if Wolle Nyvelt and Victor Daviet have extraterrestrial genes but we are pretty sure that they know how to shred anything that comes their way and how their ideal board needs to be designed. What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? Send it with warp speed or jump over meteoroids – this board’s got you covered. * LENGTHS: 150, 153, 156, 159, 162, 165, 158w, 163w SHAPE: Directional Twin Camber/Rocker/Alternative: Rock Out Camber with Quadralizer Sidecut

THE VUFO

What are the key features of this spacecraft? We reinvented our most popular board this season without taking away any of the characteristics of the ride, specifically adding a our V-Tip to this board. The V-Tip basically turns your park board into a pow board. Perfectly-tuned sidecut makes this board easy to get to know. Juiced up with our Carbon/Kevlar blend for ultimate stability and pop, it’s a true camber board with 8/10 flex rate, a classic premium freestyle machine. Best planet to rip this board on? The Vufo can basically rip anything. From powder volcanos on Mars to bonking stars in the Milky Way. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The inspiration for the Vufo graphic is, as always, a friendly takeover, only this time our owl has been crowned king over Earth. The Shallowtree has gone out of this world to bring his diamond hand to this graphic. What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? The Vufo would be the perfect find for an alien expedition. The Shallowtree graphics would make them feel at home and our ultra-sharp steel edges would tell them we are not to f*ck with.

THE B-RAGE

What are the key features of this spacecraft? The B-Rage is a direct reflection of Brage Richenberg’s personality. It’s fun to ride, it has pop that can boost over anything and it’s fast as a shark. Brage wanted a mellow, soft board that still had enough power to go big, so we tuned this board with a thinner wood core and juiced it up with our Carbon/Kevlar blend. It also has our new V-Tip that turns it into a pow board as soon as you step off slope. Easy to ride, poppy and fast. Best planet to rip this board on Even if Brage is human, he rips like he is from another planet. The B-Rage can take it all, from powder to park. Who/what are the extraterrestrial influences behind the design? The graphic is based on an old Norwegian folk tale about “Huldra,” the beautiful forest woman who lures you deep into the woods and locks you in the mountains. The Shallowtree added some secret messages that will take years to decipher.

What makes this the best board for sending it to the Moon? This board can surely handle the temperature but we would not recommend it on the Moon. The graphic would lure aliens searching for “Huldra” in the Norwegian woods, and this would ruin our pow tree runs. * LENGTHS: 153, 156 SHAPE: Twin Camber/Rocker/Alternative: True camber S N OW B OA R D I N G
