CLUB MANAGERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA Methodist University is home to a student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America, the preeminent professional organization for the private hospitality industry. The CMAA student chapter works closely with the Resort Management Club to offer opportunities for networking and professional development through attendance at conferences, seminars, and speakers. The club and chapter also arrange field experiences, community projects, and leadership development activities.

RESORT AND CLUB

INTERNSHIPS Resort and Club Management students must complete either two 400-hour (3 months) internships or one 800-hour (6 months) internship at approved facilities. Students work closely with faculty to locate and secure prime internship opportunities. Methodist University interns work at some of the most premier sites in the country, including:

INTRODUCTION The Resort and Club Management concentration prepares students for a variety of careers in the hospitality industry. Students gain an advanced knowledge base and experience in all areas of the industry including:

CAREERS Graduates of this program are ideally qualified for entry-level management positions in resorts, hotels, private clubs, and other hospitality industry roles. Students have the opportunity to graduate with up to 15 nationally-recognized industry certifications, placing them on the fast track to career success. Available certifications include: NRAEF ManageFirst: Expands options for students wishing to focus on food & beverage operations. AH&LA Certifications are offered in numerous disciplines including: human resources, sales and marketing, resort development ad management, and hospitality.
