Impacting Lives Through Golf

Promoting the goodwill and growth of the game of golf by positively impacting the lives of junior golfers, veterans, and those who are underserved by the game.

YOUTH GOLF DRIVE CHIP & PUTT The Drive, Chip, & Putt Championship is a nationwide junior golf skills competition aimed at growing the game. It is a joint initiative by the PGA of America, Masters Tournament, and USGA. It is open to juniors ages 7-15. Locally, we host numerous qualifiers for the Championship.

PGA JR. LEAGUE PGA Jr. League brings family and friends together around fun team golf experiences with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals. The program focuses on fun, recreation, good health, and sportsmanship for boys and girls ages 17 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. PGA Jr. League utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development.

MET PGA JUNIOR TOUR Established in 1975, the Junior Tour consists of over 1,300 members and conducts numerous tournaments per season for junior golfers of all abilities from the ages of 10-18. INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS

Met PGA Foundation grants financial assistance to juniors who would otherwise not be able to take full advantage of our programming. For those continuing to college, we offer scholarships as well as guidance on the college golf recruitment process. “Fairways to Success” provides members with mentorship, playing, and practice privileges at facilities that may otherwise be inaccessible to them. Our internship program allows Junior Tour alumni the opportunity to gain work experience in the industry and help build their resume. ADVANCED & COLLEGE BOUND PLAYERS

MILITARY MILITARY GOLF LEAGUE Met PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), is an adaptive golf program offered free of charge by PGA Professionals that utilizes golf as a rehabilitation tool to improve our veterans’ quality of life by enhancing their mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being. The program is open to all veterans with an emphasis on serving those with physical and emotional disabilities who would benefit the most from such an initiative. The success of our program has hinged on the strong partnerships that we have made with our local Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals, which include: Montrose VA, Castle Point VA, Northport VA, Bronx VA, and the Manhattan VA.

After graduating from our PGA HOPE program, veterans are given a set of golf clubs to continue on their golf journey. They are invited to play in our Military Golf League, and are encouraged to use their PGA HOPE card to receive discounts at area golf courses and ranges.

VETWORKS is an initiative of the Metropolitan PGA Section Foundation that helps pair our military veterans with a variety of employment opportunities at Metropolitan Section golf courses.

SINCE 2015, WE HAVE SERVED 800 VETERANS OUR GOAL IS TO SERVE ANOTHER 1,500 VETERANS BY YEAR 2023 M I L I T A R Y

INCLUSION We are proud to be a founding partner of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx whose mission is to teach young people who have traditionally not had access to the game, valuable Life Skills, and Nine Core Values. Since its opening in 2001, the facility has been at the forefront of advancing our Foundation’s mission and it is the first of many planned Foundation Learning Centers. In addition to First Tee programming, the facility hosts Met PGA Junior Tour events, PGA Jr. League Teams, is the home to our Bronx PGA HOPE Program, and offers golf course access for our junior golfers and veterans.

The PGA WORKS Fellowship aspires to be a valuable entrylevel golf industry employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to garner experience in all facets of the golf industry. The Metropolitan Section PGA continues to employ a PGA WORKS Fellow each year through the support of PGA REACH.

We strive to provide resources, professional expertise, and programs to make golf accessible to all segments of the population through various community outreach programs such as: Golf-in-Schools, and our NYC Public School Athletic League Golf Program. Our PSAL program pairs PGA Professionals with 40 inner-city school teams to enhance their knowledge and skill level and has over 350 kids participating.
