How band got onto the curriculum of Canada's public schools.

There are six books in all on Arthur Delamont and his world-famous Vancouver Kitsilano Boys Band. For forty years his band was the benchmark by which all other youth bands were measured. He made twelve extensive trips to England and Europe between 1934 and 1974 and his band over the years won over two hundred championship awards. As he crossed Canada by train in the thirties and fifties playing concerts in each town before catching the ship to England, everyone wanted a band that could play like his boys. It wasn't until the sixties that the fine example he set, became the reason band finally got onto the curriculum of high schools in Canada, this is his story.
