Macau, Hong Kong's smaller neighbor, is Asia's leading gambling and gaming destination and has long become famous for its vivid nightlife and swanky casino-resorts, where high-heeled guests pour thousands of dollars on the Baccarat tables… What many visitors to Hong Kong don't realize, though, is that you can actually enjoy a night out in Macau without having to stay at a hotel there, and make it back to Hong Kong before dawn.
The price for a one-way economy class ticket ranges from HK$ 140 (daytime – till 5pm) to HK$ 175 during the night. Click here for their current timetable (and rates) from/to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal and Macau: (To get to the terminal: Sheung Wan MTR Station, Exit-D / If coming by tram, drop off at a stop called "Macau Ferry Terminal")

This mini-guide will show you how to do it… "The House of Dancing Water", one of the world's most spectacular extravaganzas, is permanently staged at the City of Dreams in Macau, opposite the famous Venetian. Created and directed by Franco Dragone, this überspectacular water-themed show plays twice daily, almost every day, at 5pm and 8pm, and is a real must-see. What's more, you can combine it with a visit to the world's largest casino and have dinner at one of the fantastic restaurants in either the City of Dreams itself, or across the street, at the Venetian's "Grand Canal Shoppes".
CotaiJet, the second operator, provides a jet ferry service from Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in Central (Hong Kong Island) to Taipa Ferry Terminal in Macau, which is much closer to the City of Dreams and The Venetian (and this can be somewhat significant if you have to take a taxi back at night, as the fare to Taipa Ferry Terminal will be much lower than to Macau Main Ferry Terminal). Their ferries depart from Hong Kong in 30 minutes intervals until 9pm, and once an hour, between 10pm and 1am On the way back, their ferries leave Macau at 9:30pm, 10pm, 10:30pm, 11pm, 12 midnight, 1am and 3am
The best thing is that ferries run between Hong Kong and Macau 24 hours a day, which means you can enjoy a long evening in Macau's glitzy casino resorts and make it back to Hong Kong before breakfast is served…
The price for a one-way economy class ticket ranges from HK$ 150 (daytime – till 5pm) to HK$ 185 during the night.
Both City of Dreams and The Venetian operate their own free shuttle from/to Macau's Ferry Terminal, but the service stops before midnight, so you might have to take a taxi to the ferry terminal on your way back, which is not too horrible, really, as taxi fares in Macau are quite sane…

How to Get great hotel rates? Click NOW for fantastic discount rates in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Seoul. TurboJet, the main operator on the line, connects Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in Central (Hong Kong Island) with Macau Main Ferry Terminal. Their ferries depart in 15 minutes intervals, until midnight, and less frequently throughout the night (They also operate a line from China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui to Macau, but it runs only until 10:30pm, so if your hotel is on the Kowloon side of Victoria Harbour, you might want to travel to Macau from Tsim-sha-Tsui and return to Central, from where you will have to take the MTR).
