After that, Uncle Ho and his comrades had to prepare for a long resistance war, even during Tet. Despite being the President and the respected leader of Vietnam, Uncle Ho lived very simply. He ate plain meals, worked on time every day, wrote letters to encourage the people, sent New Year’s wishes, and recorded heartfelt messages for the nation.

Morality Lesson

This story shows the great love and dedication President Ho Chi Minh had for Vietnam's revolution and people. In the Spring of 1946, he sent letters appealing for peace to the leaders and France’s citizens. Vu Ky said that Ho Chi Minh was constantly thinking about the nation's future and the tasks that the young Party needed to accomplish. He worked relentlessly, to the point of becoming so thin and his hair turning white. To conclude, it was this unwavering determination and lifelong dedication of President Ho Chi Minh that led Vietnam to victory and independence.
