Five Star Moving has been a family tradition for decades. Jody Dowdy has always worked in the business and he also worked as a firefighter for Augusta-Richmond County’s Fire Department. In 2019, he and his wife Rhonda Dowdy, a Realtor with over 20 years of experience, who manages Greg Honeymichael/The Honeymichael Group, purchased the company.

“Jody’s dad and step-mom were looking to start enjoying retirement” Rhonda said. “With my husband’s retirement from the Fire Department, Jody was able to dedicate all of his time to the business and now his parents have peace of mind knowing we are carrying on his father’s legacy.

Jody and Rhonda focus heavily on customer service. “We offer free estimates,” Jody said. “And we wrap all of the furniture, shrink-wrap the family’s precious pieces, then pack the moving truck professionally and carefully to protect the family’s possessions. Once at their new home, we take just as much care unpacking and working diligently to insure everything is placed where they want.”

Rhonda’s years of experience with Greg Honeymichael has been a great asset to Five Star Moving. She understands the stress of moving better than anyone, so she plays a crucial role as well, to make sure each move goes as smoothly as possible.
