Does your child have the acting bug? Students will experience putting on a full scale musical theater production entitled “All That Jazz!” While exploring the history of jazz, students will learn about performance etiquette, vocal technique and acting skills through rehearsal and preparation each day. **Students are required to pack a lunch. Snacks will be provided.


CAMPS & WORKSHOPS

Music Technology (Ages 12+) June 12 - July 17 (6 weeks) Fridays 4:30 - 6:00 pm Instructor: Dimitris Dodoras Tuition: $180 This class provides students the opportunity to master a professional music editing program that is commonly used in the music industry. Students will explore the essentials of recording, audio editing, and postproduction effects, and will be given weekly projects to develop their skills with the software. Students will also explore music composition methods and styles throughout the learning process.

Chamber Music Intensive (Ages 11 -18) June 14 - 21 (1 week) Sunday - Sunday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Various Instructors Tuition: $600 For advanced students, PCM’s Chamber Music Intensive offers an exciting, deep dive into chamber music. The camp is led by PCM ArtistTeacher, AimÊe Kreston. Audition required.

PCM’s Clarinet Camp focuses on fundamentals, including breathing, embouchure, and articulation. The camp includes reed-work, choosing a mouthpiece, practice tools, and intonation. Students will also perform solo and chamber music in masterclasses. Past masterclass teachers have included Yehuda Gilad, Michele Zukovsky, Burt Hara, and Don Foster. Masterclass teachers for 2020 to be announced.

Jazz Workshop (Ages 11 - 18) July 6 - 17 (2 weeks) Monday - Friday 2:00 - 6:00 pm Instructor: Dr. Ray Briggs Tuition: $600 This two-week course develops foundations of jazz improvisation, theory, and history. Students study with some of L.A.’s great jazz teachers, gain a comprehensive knowledge of jazz traditions, participate in daily master classes, learn to play pieces by jazz masters, and perform in an end-ofworkshop concert. All instruments welcome, no previous jazz experience required.

Students enrolled in the workshop perform jazz standards as well as original arrangements composed by Kirsten Edkins. Students will be joined by a professional rhythm section for a final performance. Previous experience required. All students are required to sign up for a minimum of six individual lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length.

Ukulele Songbook Mondays 10:00 - 11:30 am or Tuesdays 6:30 - 8:00 pm Instructor: Lindsay Dodoras With classics from Broadway to our favorite jazz standards, students will learn the mechanics behind each of these timeless tunes and how to perform them live.

Glee Club Wednesdays 10:00 - 11:30 am Instructor: Lindsay Dodoras Whether you are an experienced choir member or looking to begin singing for the first time, this is your chance to explore vocal technique and music theory through various genres of choral repertoire including classical, contemporary, jazz, and musical theater! Come one and all to experience the true happiness of singing in a choir!


Adult Orff Ensemble Tuesdays 2:00 - 3:30 pm Instructor: Rachael Doudrick Students will learn, create, and perform music in the Orff-Schulwerk style: a process that begins with simple songs, patterns, movement, and body percussion, and evolves into feeling-ful, sophisticated musicmaking.

Jazz Combo Thursdays (June 18 - August 6) Tuition: $200 each Instructor: Sherry Luchette Intermediate/Advanced: 12:00 - 1:00 pm Beginner: 7:15 - 8:15 pm Students learn to play jazz and blues standards in an ensemble setting. This includes listening to tunes and learning about melody, arrangements, chords, scales, and jazz improvisation. Students bring their own instruments and supplies with the exception of piano, drums, and amplifiers, which will be provided.

Recorder Ensemble Thursdays 10:30 am - 12:00 pm Instructor: Rachael Doudrick Students will play soprano, alto, and tenor recorders in small consorts, with an emphasis on individual musicianship within the ensemble.

Adult Musical Theater Thursdays 6:30 - 8:00 pm Instructor: Lindsay Dodoras Join your peers in experiencing the world of musical theater through movement, singing, and acting. All levels of experience are welcome!

Adult Guitar Chamber Ensemble PCM Guitar Faculty Students will be placed into guitar duos, trios, or quartets based on skill level and preference. Groups will meet for 8 sessions on their own and 8 one hour coachings with their instructor in preparation for a final, group performance.
