WSA- YEAR 1 Design Tutor (2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18)

Studios were first and foremost a space for students to develop a creative intent with spatial thinking at its core; they offered a series of opportunities for students to consider within their projects the act of being in space (and how being fully in space is a way of connecting with our bodies, our community, surroundings, planet, and even the universe) as a fundamentally architectural question. This topic was very much covered in Term 1 and further developed in Term 2 through a problem-based case project.

During the academic year, students were invited to be part of the process of designing through making (1:1 prototypes, models, experiential devices, material and structural explorations…) individually and collectively.
